3 As a designer my constant endeavor has been to use various materials in their pure forms or in combination & create interesting outcomes. Today, the look and feel is creativity at its best. The language chosen is modern but with a lot of detailing and dressiness. The movement is from modern to fusion and in its wake all the experimentation & creativity that is possible. The emphasis is also on the functionality of a design. The objects are not only conversational but also immensely practical. It is only rarely that function is compromised and that too when design is meant to have only a sculpturous presence. Lately, there has been a revolution in the variety available, new materials and technology accessible. Solid maintainable surfaces, steel in various finishes, faux stone surfaces, finishes like never before, variety of wall papers, experimental leathers, plush fabrics and acrylics. These were the times of same look furniture visible across the country. Exhibitions were held from time to time exposing the viewer to various possibilities, creativity and experimentation. A complete knowledge of materials, technical capability, zeal to continuously innovate and revolutionise design and ability to set trends has established I m as a forerunner in the field of design with a versatility not known before. We follow the limited edition approach as an antidote to the mass produced world we live in. We promote design for design s sake because the forces that promote mediocrity remain so powerful. Various artists are commissioned to do installations, create sculptures & paintings, revolving around concepts & themes. The emphasis has always been to create the right ambience with a combination of art & design. The USP of the store today is custom designing and caters to a niche clientele. There has been an extensive media coverage in both print and electronic of I m and about spaces designed, the concepts introduced, the trends established. Enough interviews have taken place, I have been writing articles for newspapers and magazines. Numerous design & art shows have been organised at I`m showcasing works by various designers& artists from across the country.
