7 Nature based solutions? Urban green (blue) spaces - provide manifold benefits in terms of ES to address current and future challenges of urban development. But, the implementation of green spaces as parts of urban green infrastructure in urban areas is restricted by competing urban land use demands, limited areas for (new) green spaces, and limited public financial resources. 8 Aim of the project Investigation of values and potentials of urban biodiversity and ecosystem services in the context of sustainable urban development under ongoing urbanization processes in China and in Germany.
