2 DWF400 BASES The new DWF400 fixture base is a solid cast from a mixture of polymers and silica sand that houses connectors or LED light sources and electronics depending on model. The molding technology ensures protection from water ingress through seepage or capillarity to IP68. Each base is delivered with 200mm of neoprene-clad (8mmØ 2x1mm Cu) cable and a pair of IP68 connectors, one of which is already installed on the fixture s cable. Bases can be active (AB) or passive (PB). Active bases (AB) are fiber optics illuminators. They house a 1,3W CREE LED and its driver to power fiber optics reeds and fixtures. Active bases must be connected to a 12VAC power supply. Passive bases (PB) house a female connector on top from where to power LED reeds and other LED fixtures. 5 DECORATIVE WATER FEATURES Decorative Water Features are decorative lighting effects for gardens, lakes, ponds, mirrors, shallow pools, and other damp, wet, or water environments. The range comprises fiber optics and LED fixtures with different shapes and possibilities; reeds with lengths of up to four meters, luminous bushes, plants, and fronds. The fixtures are firmly secured in water or soil by means of IP68 bases, which deliver power to features with LED lamps, or light to fiber optics elements. Each Decorative Water Feature consists of two products: 1) A luminous element: reed, bush, frond, or palms. 2) An anchoring base housing a matching connector for reeds with an LED tip (Passive Base PB) or an LED illuminator to light fiber optics features (Active Base AB). The bases must be connected to a 12VAC magnetic transformer by means of the paired connectors supplied with each unit. This arrangement allows multiple fixtures to be easily wired in parallel. The Water Features low voltage allows their installation in damp areas, soil, or underwater with total safety. CARBON COMPOSITE REEDS Manufactured with hi-tech carbon fiber tubes, these fixtures afford unparalleled flexibility and long-lasting features. The thinner (4mm) reeds sway in the slightest breeze and resemble fireflies when set in groups. Thicker reeds (8mm) sit straight in all conditions. Each reed incorporates a replaceable G4 almond LED lamp and plug directly its connector into a matching one in the AFO PB, IP68 base. 6 FIBER OPTICS REEDS Slender 10mm clear PMMA tubes house thin fiber optics in different configurations to light the reed s full length. The tubes can be clear for a sparkling effect or frosted for a more subdued and even brightness. These reeds are powered by an LED illuminator housed in its AFO AB, IP68 base. The designer can shape the individual fibers to intertwine bramble-like, trail like a creeper, or fan out to spread over a large area. Each of the eight light guides houses several Toray Ultra optical fibers and a light-alloy wire, in a clear PVC sleeve protected by a PMMA clear end cap for ingress protection. 7 FIBER OPTICS FRONDS Frond fixtures are formed by seven (regular) or nine (irregular) 4mm ABS polymer reeds, each housing a 1,5mm Toray Ultra optical fiber, but curved so the bright light on the reed tips face downward to draw a circle of points on the water surface. The curved reeds are protected by a PMMA clear cap for unimpeded view and ingress protection. These fixtures are powered by an LED illuminator housed in its AFO AB, IP68 base.
