5 November 5 th 2017 The annual Remembrance Parade and Cenotaph Service was held on Sunday, Nov 5 th with the parade leading off at 12:45 from the IGA in Hudson, with the service taking place at the cenotaph at 13h00. Photo: Rod Hodgson
6 The Remembrance Day ceremony was attended by over 100 Legionnaires and local residents and currently serving Canadian military personnel. 9 M.P. Peter Schiefke aids WW II Veteran Peter Stephenson with the first shovelful of earth to plant the Vimy Oak in Hudson. Peter Stephenson s father had been at Vimy Ridge on April 9 th -12 th, 1917 with the Cape s Battery, (3 rd Canadian Siege Battery) along with some 25 other men from Hudson.

Hudson Branch 115 along with Maxine Bredt as she cuts the LEST WE FORGET memorial cake. Maxine served as a nursing sister with the Canadian Army Medical Corps during WW II on various front including Italy and N.W. Europe. Just behind Maxine is our special Fenian Raid display case about the local militia corps from Hudson in 1886 known as the Como Rifles. Photo: James Parry

38 June 4 th 2017, We are now conducting a fund-raising session to finish off the Cenotaph before it is rededicated this summer. Please drop off your donation at the bar. Last Week a new chain link fence was erected around the Cenotaph and gardens. Congratulations and a great big THANK YOU to Mike Elliott and John Dalgarno for all their hard work.
39 On April 9 th 2017, Maxine Bredt, a WW II Nursing Sister Veteran, attended the 100 th Anniversary of Vimy Ridge on a special invitation of the Department of Veteran s Affairs. She will be 98 in about a month from now.
40 April 9, 2017 Sunday s memorial to Vimy Ridge was very well attended with over 100 members and guests in attendance. It was a beautiful sunny day to remember those from Hudson and Canada who had fought and fallen during the Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 9th, A special thank you goes to Sergeant at Arms David Hatch, Cody Gilmore and Bob Hart for helping make the day work perfectly.

Bruce contacted numerous Legion branches around Montreal and they all gathered house hold items, such as soap, diapers, pet food, toiletries, household needs-toilet paper, paper towels etc...
