The journal will convey information on theory and practice in the multi disciplinary sustainable development fields including (but is not limited to) environmental sciences, environmental engineering, environmental management, agricultural environment, environmental security, environmental governance, socioeconomic environment, industrial environment and built environment. The journal alignment of theoretical and practice as key to sustainable development. Journal of Environmental Protection is published thrice a year, in February, June and September. 5 Editorial Note This is the maiden issue of the Journal of Environmental Protection (IERD) published by the Institute for Environment Research and Development and hosted by Bells University of Technology, Ota. The journal production is sequel to the 2010 International Conference on Environmental Protection held between September 21-23, 2010 at the Bells University of Technology, Ota convened by the Institute for Environment Research and Development (IERD) and Bells University of Technology, Ota. This edition of the peer reviewed Journal of Environmental Protection cut across several disciplines in conformity with the multidisciplinary nature of the concept of sustainable development. Ten articles were selected for this edition. The editorial team is delighted in the intellectuality and research stimulated papers in this edition which are expected to play tangible roles in expanding research scope, inspire further researches and initiate policy reforms that will support the protection of our environment. The team commends the advisory board and the reviewers of the submitted articles for their painstaking advice in making this edition a success. The editorial team expects you to find this maiden edition good to read, as a policy reformation tool, a useful reference material, and a contribution to the developing field of sustainable development.
