1 (For Vendor Registration Purpose) SHEET 1 of GENERAL INFORMATION The general guidelines as illustrated in the subsequent clauses of this section shall be applicable for air cooled condenser to be procured under the scope of this package. This specification is intended only for vendor registration purpose. Project specific specification indicating detailed scope, materials of construction, process parameters like Steam turbine exhaust flow, steam turbine exhaust pressure, enthalpy, inlet air dry bulb temperature, heat load etc. shall be made available to the registered vendors at the time of NIT. Note : Any Data Sheet/ QP/ Annexure/ Section / Part of specification etc. indicated in this document but not attached shall be made available to the registered vendors at the time of NIT CODES AND STANDARDS In addition to the requirements spelt out elsewhere in the specification, the equipment to be provided under this section shall specifically conform to the following codes, standards, specifications and regulations, as applicable, including all the latest amendments subsequent to the year of publication as mentioned below Anti-Friction Bearing Manufacturer s Association: Std 9 & American Gear Manufacturer s Association: 6001-C & American Institute of Steel Construction: M011, S302 & S American National Standards Institute: A58.1, B1.1, B & B American Petroleum Institute : Std American Society of Mechanical Engineers : ASME Sec VIII Div Heat Exchange Institute : Standards for Steam Surface Condenser, 9th edition,1995

2 (For Vendor Registration Purpose) SHEET 2 of API-610/1989: Centrifugal pumps for general refinery services HIS: Hydraulic Institute Standards, USA TEMA : Standards Tubular Exchanger Manufacturers association ASTM Standard Methods for Liquid Penetration Inspection Performance Test Codes for air cooled heat exchangers : PTC 30 Note : For piping, valves, fans, motors, ejectors/ vacuum pumps, tanks, civil works, electrical and C&I works etc., the latest Indian/ International standards shall be applicable SCOPE OF SUPPLY & SERVICES: The ACC scope shall be project specific & detailed specification shall be furnished during project specific enquiry, however for reference the scope has been indicated in succeeding clauses The EPC scope for ACC includes the complete ACC including design, engineering, manufacture, assembly, painting, inspection and testing at manufacturer's and/or his sub-contractor's work, proper packing, delivery at site, transportation, unloading/ handling at site, erection, site painting, commissioning, performance testing at site for Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) including mechanical, electrical, C&I, civil and structural works, as specified & as necessary for completeness in all respects and for efficient & trouble free operation of ACC The ACC under this specification shall be complete with standard/special accessories. The scope of supply shall include, but not limited to the following: Standard accessories for ACC: a) Steam duct from turbine exhaust flange to condenser including expansion joints, guides, manholes, anchors and hangers and provision for HP and LP

The turbine exhaust is a flange connection and ACC duct will be provided with flanged connection. b) Steam distribution ducting c) Fin tube bundles d) Condensate collection headers e) Air moving system including fans, gearboxes, couplings, motors, vibration switches, fan rings and guards. f) Support structures for steam duct, guides, slides etc g) Fan deck and A-frames including maintenance platforms, access stairways and escape ladder. h) Partition walls, access doors, and wind wall, steel support framing including associated siding material. i) Condensate and non-condensable removal piping within the condenser envelope. j) Rupture disk assemblies (100 % capacity). k) Dump Tube & Accessories for Turbine Bypass Steam Dumping. l) Noise attenuation features/devices as required. m) All bolting and gaskets required for assembly of materials furnished like structures, fans and pumps n) Mandatory spares shall be project specific & shall be furnished during project specific enquiry. a) One (1) hot well tank(main condensate tank), for the air cooled condenser system complete with supporting structure, nozzles and flanges, stiffeners, baffle plates, condensate level control etc.

PE-MSE-VD-ACC (For Vendor Registration Purpose) SHEET 4 of 6 b) One (1) condensate drain pot for collecting the condensate of the turbine exhaust duct complete with all supporting structure, nozzles, stiffeners, control & instruments etc. a) Two (2)x100% drain pot pumps each equipped with direct coupled motor and all necessary accessories. The pump shall be sized considering all condensate / drain flow from turbine and other sources. b) Horizontal Condensate Extraction Pumps with motors Piping, Fittings and Ducts a) The required piping and ducting from turbine exhaust to condenser, condensate piping from condenser to main condensate tank, air removal piping as well as all other necessary piping including drain and vent piping are included in Bidder s scope. b) Motorized Valves at Condensate Extraction Pump and Condensate drain Pump Hot well Pumps discharge. c) Condensate Extraction Pump minimum recirculation system including Control Valves., inlet / outlet isolating valves and by-pass valves. d) Insulation on Tanks, Ducting & Piping as applicable. e) DC Solenoid Vacuum Breaker Valves mounting on Condenser ACC Cleaning System Bidder shall include a suitable cleaning system with high pressure water jet for ACC outside heat transfer surface in his scope Air Removal System a) 2x100% steam jet holding ejectors b) 1x100% hogging ejector

5 (For Vendor Registration Purpose) SHEET 5 of 6 c) 1x100% ejector condensers consisting of inter and after condensers cooled by main condensate. d) Thermal relief valve on the water side. e) Drain and Vent piping, valves and traps with supports Note : Vacuum pump may be asked in place of ejectors. Same shall be indicated in project specific enquiry Services included in Bidder s Scope: Brief Scope supply of Civil Works a) All civil works including equipment foundation of all equipments, support columns / structures, operating floors, pump houses with handling arrangements, grouting, Cable trenches, floor drains, within ACC Vendor T.P. s. b) Wind Wall structure all round the ACC to avoid air recirculation. c) Staircase, all Platforms, Columns, Fan Deck, Deck Slab, ACC Walkway and any other Civil Work etc Brief Scope supply of Electrical & C & I Works: a) Electrification, illumination, lighting, over ground earthing & underground earthing, lightning protection system etc. b) Instrument Panel for instrument supplied by ACC Vendor. c) Local instrumentation and controls in the exhaust and condensate systems required for safe and reliable operation including control cabling and cable trays up to Junction box Erection and commissioning of ACC at site Performance testing of ACC at site as per Quality Plan/ performance test procedure (QP/ performance test procedure shall be approved by BHEL and end customer) The omission of specific reference to any component / accessory necessary for the proper performance of ACC and its Components shall be in Vendor scope Terminal Points:

Steam to ejectors : At one point near ejectors, ejector in ACC Vendor Scope. c) Condensate Piping for exhaust hood Spray from CEP discharge shall be at one point near TG Deck. d) DM make up Water to hot well : at inlet nozzle of Hot well / Condensate Tank. e) Instrument Air / Service Air: At one point near ACC area. f) Power Supply : At motor terminals. g) Instruments: At local JBs near equipment. Local JB s in ACC Vendor scope. h) Main Condensate supply & return for GSC : TP on main condensate line near GSC outlet, Isolating & bypass valve in ACC Vendor scope. i) Drains & Vents of STG integral portion : At Valve outlet. Piping by ACC Vendor Note : A schematic diagram is attached as Annexure-A for terminal points between BHEL & bidder. This is for general reference of scope, however the detailed scope shall be indicated in project specific enquiry OTHER REQUIREMENTS: The detailed technical/ constructional requirements shall be as per project specific enquiry The performance requirements and inspection/ testing shall be as per project specific enquiry DRAWINGS/ DOCUMENTS DISTRIBUTION SCHEDULE After award of LOI, the successful bidder shall submit drawings/documents as per project specific enquiry The no. of drawings/documents to be submitted shall be as per project specific enquiry. Note: Evaluation of bids, guarantees etc shall be as per project specific enquiry.
