2 Passive Infrared (PIR) Technology PIR sensors use a semiconductor detector to sense movement of heat emitted from the human body Sensors respond when a person moves from one zone to another PIR technology can t penetrate coverings (glass, plastic etc) Must be line of sight Can be prone to false OFFs

3 Ultra-Sonic Technology Ultra-Sonic sensors act as transmitter/receivers continuously sending out ultrasonic sound waves responding when change is detected Sensitive to smaller motions than PIR Can see around objects (partitioned restrooms, beams etc) Can be prone to false ONs

4 Mult-Technology Multi-Tech sensors combine both PIR and Ultra-Sonic to the most reliable detection means possible Combination of the best of both technologies with long range detection from PIR and high sensitivity from Ultra-Sonic PIR Technology will turn the senor on and a reading either PIR or Ultra-Sonic will keep the load on
