2 Dose Selection Standby All keys are lighted with no pod[s] inserted Coffee Cycles Left dose selection keys remain lighted for selection when pod is inserted in left side. Selected dose will flash on display during cycle Choose Large or Small coffee dose. Right dose selection keys remain lighted for selection when pod is inserted in right side. Choose Large or Small coffee dose. Left and right dose selection keys remain lighted for selection when pod is inserted in both sides. Choose Large or Small coffee dose. 2

3 Cleaning Cleaning Key Status Normal/Standby Alert Lock-out (Cleaning required) How to Clean After Lock-out Press red cleaning key Default: 20 cycles before required cleaning lock-out (230 total cycles) Default: 250 total cycles Cleaning key will turn blue and begin to flash, indicating that you have entered the cleaning mode 1.) Press cleaning tablets into inserts and install through each side Cleaning Tablet Insert (ref. RB1000) Cleaning Tablet Insert (ref. RB1000) After cleaning inserts are installed in each side, the blue cleaning key light turns solid and cl begins to flash on display. 2.) Start the cleaning cycle Press blue cleaning key to start. Blue cleaning key and cl will continue to flash during the cleaning cycle. Manual Cleaning Press and hold green or yellow cleaning key for 3 seconds. or Cleaning key will turn blue and begin to flash, indicating that you have entered the cleaning mode. Complete steps 1 and 2 above. To exit manual cleaning mode (not applicable after lock-out): Press flashing blue cleaning key before installing cleaning inserts. If cleaning inserts have been installed, and the blue cleaning key remains lit solid, the cleaning cycle cannot be exited and must be started. Remove and empty waste drawer at the end of the cycle. Drawer must be removed for 5 seconds. 3

4 Waste Drawer Drawer/Programming Key Status / Alert 6 coffee cycles before drawer lock-out. The remaining number is displayed at the end of each cycle. Counter is set to 45 by default. Drawer Full Flashing: Empty drawer to reset coffee counter and resume operation. Drawer Absent Flashing: Replace/adjust drawer to resume operation. Drawer Counter Reset Flashing: Coffee counter is reset after drawer has been removed for 5 seconds. Replace drawer to resume operation. If the drawer is removed for less than 5 seconds the coffee counter does not reset, and status (indicator) remains in previous state. 4

5 Programming Menu Programming Access: Hold green drawer/ programming key for 3 seconds Key turns yellow and do is displayed Menu Navigation: Menu Toggle Key Select/De-select Key Adjust + Adjust - Menu Function Coffee Dosing Program the coffee doses Pre-infusion Program pre-infusion ON & OFF times Menu Toggling: Press Eject Delay Drawer Capacity Cleaning Interval Program the pod eject delay Program the number of coffees before drawer lock-out Program the number of coffees before cleaning lock-out Switch machine OFF then ON to save changes (Wait 3 seconds before turning back ON!) 5

6 Programming Navigation of the programing sections: and/or Coffee Dose Insert 1 or 2 pods. Press large or small dose key to start. Press the same dose key again to stop. Repeat as needed to get correct amount. Switch machine OFF to save. Return to Menu Display (according to dose selection) Stop here: Default values for PI, PE, & DC are normally OK The 1-cup cycles automatically program the 2-cups cycle, however, the 2-cup cycles can also be programmed independently. PI has 2 sections; time ON and time OFF Display alternates Increase by 0.5 sec steps Time in seconds 3s Pre-infusion Decrease by 0.5 sec steps Save value and return to menu PI ON - Opens the brew valve to pre-wet the pod. Default 1-2 seconds PI OF(F) - Delay before the main extraction starts. Default 2-3 seconds 6

7 Exhaust time is the delay before the pod is ejected. It allows time for all the coffee to flow into the cup. increase by 0.5 sec steps Time in seconds Exhaust decrease by 0.5 sec steps Save value and return to menu increase number of pods Number of pods b (default value 45 pods) Drawer capacity decrease number of pods Save value and return to menu * Drawer almost full default warning is displayed after 39 pods. ( 6 pods before the total capacity.) Ex: for 40 programmed pods the warning will be triggered at 34 pods. Switch OFF the drawer counter. Only used with under counter waste disposal. (not available in at this time) increase cleaning interval Number of coffees before required cleaning is prompted The group will no operate until cleaning is completed Cleaning Intervals The dot indicates value is multiplied by 10. 8 Messages Drawer Full DF flashes when the waste drawer is full. *Remove drawer to empty, drawer must be out for 5 seconds to reset. Drawer Absent DA flashes when the waste drawer is missing or not pushed all the way in *Check that there are no pods or debris behind the drawer. *Check that drawer switch clicks when the drawer is inserted. Cleaning Required cl flashes after a pre-set number of cycles (cleaning interval is 250 by default) *A cleaning cycle must be completed to restore operation. *Change the cleaning interval in programing if desired. Error Codes Top Open to flashes when the top cover is open (or cover safety switch is not engaged). This prevents the coffee cycle from starting. *Check that top cover is fully closed and sits flat. *Check that micro switch at rear of cover clicks. Pod Error (Photo-Cell) PE flashes when an obstacle is blocking the infrared detection field of the top cover and prevents the start of the coffee cycle. *Make sure nothing is blocking the sensors on either side of the top cover slots. *Error PE also flashes if the top cover cable is unplugged. Dose Error de flashes when the flow-meter does not detect water flow while the pump is running. *Check that the water supply is turned on. *Change the water filters to improve water flow. *Check for internal water flow obstructions. *Check the flowmeter plug and circuit. 8
