2 About us Since 1971, the headquarter of HANSA Klimasysteme GmbH is located in Strücklingen in the district of Saterland, which, along with its Sater Friesian, is known as Germany's smallest linguistic enclave. In contrast, we speak in plain language about our products. We have been guaranteeing sophisticated and high-quality air conditioning systems for more than 45 years. The company Since the founding of the company, we have been known for the construction of air-conditioning systems for schools, sports halls, swimming pools and hospitals as well as for the use in industries and process engineering in Germany and far beyond. Based on our experience with these systems, we have developed a wide range of air conditioning devices that we are pleased to present in our delivery program. Our constructive solutions for the continuously increasing of today s indoor air quality needs guarantee a constant quality, functionality, and reliability with increasing energy efficiency levels. Many property rights have been registered at the European Patent Office during the development processes and have been considered worthy of patents and protection. As member of the association of manufacturers for air conditioning devices (RLT Herstellerverbandes e.v.), we undertake to construct our devices according to the associations guidelines to always guarantee quality, operational safety and legal security for our customers and operators of our devices. Our Team We continuously train our employees in order to educate our team to be well-prepared for the changing needs of the industry. Some staff members have been with us since the founding of the company, other specialists are enriching our staff continuously. The HANSA team consists of experienced experts in the field of air conditioning device production and the associated specialized fields of refrigeration technique, control engineering and control. We have excellent organizational means and state-of-theart manufacturing machines. The construction and production are performed in QM-conditions according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. Our philosophy Our goal is to optimally comply with the climate requirements of our customers and to contribute to the protection of the environment. We offer therefore systems that can be adapted to the individual operating conditions of the customers at low energy consumption thanks to flexible production processes and up-to-date components. As the energy demand of the overall system and the individual modules can be reduced without affecting the efficiency of the system, the investment and energy costs will decrease likewise. 3 Blue Line type code Our type code consists of the device box name "HKG", the device size in decimetres (width and height, two digits each) and short-cuts for the device's installed components and properties. An HKG KV-WF-CO is then a weatherproof ventilation unit with run-around-system and control panel (HEC-DDC) at 1,000 x 1,000 mm (width times height). 4 Construction - energy efficiency labeling Efficiency classes As a member of the RLT manufacturers association, we label the energy efficiency on all units that possess heat recovery features as A+, A or B. The class is assigned based on three determinants air speed compliance to regulation 1253/2014 Please refer to the tables to the right for the precise classification. The regulation targets reducing CO 2 emissions and increasing renewable energy. 2009/125/EG is legally binding in the European Union, EFTA and Turkey. Refer to RLT Guideline Cerification for precise criteria. Compared with Eurovent? Whereas this same standard (DIN EN 13053) forms the basis for the Eurovent efficiency classes, it does not strictly exclude any one of the classes based on one of the basic or essential determinants. The compensations that are permissible for Eurovent certification mean that the manufacturers association systems and the Eurovent systems are not comparable to each other. 5 AirCalc Our ventilation and air conditioning units are constructed entirely in our AirCalc design program, which is then used to produce them. The software provides customized solutions without any restrictions based on fixed, predefined unit types. AirCalc is certified by TÜV Süd for determining the energy efficiency classes according to the guidelines of the Association of AHU Manufacturers. The headquarters of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety in Berlin is a Passive House project, ventilated by HANSA-Accu devices using highly efficient heat and moisture recovery. 5 Version 3 / 2018 Subject to construction modifications

6 Construction - weather analysis Weather analysis Our engineers use weather data (see figure to the right) to optimize the ventilation and air conditioning units. Our efforts are particularly focused on energyefficient determinants tailored to suit market needs and components designed for heat recovery (inlet and outlet temperatures, degree of efficiency, possibly moisture recovery and dehumidification), including designing an appropriate control strategy. The following questions can be answered based on actual weather data: With regenerative heat recovery, is re-humidification through condensation adequate, or should a hygroscopic coating be used? Should a humidifier be additionally provided? How much heat/cooling power is enough? Can dehumidification (e.g. in areas surrounding swimming pools) be carried out without using a mechanical refrigeration system? Inadequate or too generously-sized HVAC systems typically cause significant additional costs. Use our expertise to determine the best system for your application. 8 Standards and regulations - export HANSA worldwide CE-marking (European Union, Switzerland and Turkey) As a member of the Manufacturers Association of RLT, we concur with the view that our machinery used in ventilation and air conditioning equipment must be in line with the EG Machinery Directive. As a consequence, our customers in the European Union, Switzerland and Turkey enjoy an immediate and decided advantage: Each complete unit is extensively tested according to the machinery, low voltage and EMC guidelines, and are appropriately CE labelled. This label assures the operator and the planner/equipment manufacturer of legal certainty. A complete machine that is capable of CE marking comprises certain mandatory safety equipment (e.g. dedicated repair switch), the wiring and the control panel, with a controller, if necessary. While it is easy for a foreign company to add these components, the operator loses the advantage of having the CE declaration and must pay to have the appropriate certification carried out at his own expense. In addition, HANSA's control-technical processing significantly facilitates adapting the unit to match the customer's requests. Interfaces are avoided and the owner benefits from the experience of our engineers by using systems that are efficient and are able to meet demand. UL-marking (USA and Canada) Of course, as a UL-certified company, we manufacture control panels that meet UL standards for our customers in the U.S. and Canada, and we label them accordingly. GOST-R/TR certification (the Russian Federation, etc.) Our distributor for Eastern Europe, excluding the European Union countries, certify our equipment according to GOST-R/TR guidelines for the safe machinery design. 8

10 Standards and regulations - certificates Certified quality The application-specific standards in design and manufacturing must be especially taken into account, in addition to the European directives (e.g. MD, EMC, LVD, ATEX) and the general principles for the design and construction of air handling units. For more than 45 years, we have been building air handling units for supply of spaces occupied by people, including hospitals, swimming pools, server areas, kitchens and food outlets. In addition to our own independent, standards-compliant design and manufacturing processes, we regularly have independent laboratories check our units to ensure compliance with all relevant standards. 12 Housing and manufacturing standards Profiles Depending on the size of the unit and customer requirements, we use 30 or 50 mm frame profiles (anodized, if necessary) made of aluminum (R30 and R50 profiles). These profiles are also used thermally separated and insulated per cube type as needed (R30I and R50I). These profiles are characterized by a good thermal insulation and the avoidance of thermal bridges. This avoids wasting energy and condensation problems. 14 Components - DDC Control technology Our technical control department has decades of experience in HVAC systems control. We rely on different systems to optimally meet each customer's needs and requirements. The control strategies are derived from the installed components and their interconnection (defined in the control scheme), the requirements (e.g. for operating the swimming pool, the hospital, kitchen, etc.) and operational conditions (e.g., the geographical location). Optimally, a detailed clarification occurs as early as the bidding phase. If this is not possible, an appropriate margin must be provided in order to adapt to parameters and algorithms after commissioning. Control cabinet with Saia-DDC Hand-held devices, LCD panels, web panels or the connecting standard PCs via the Ethernet (LAN and Internet) provide access to the technology, whose possibilities are defined precisely by the user's functions. In this regard, we implement different user levels, each of which are secured by passwords. We highly recommend remote access by connecting to the Internet or, if that is not possible, to a GSM modem. Doing this enables our team to costeffectively carry out remote maintenance at the main plant, which allows many of the necessary tasks to be done without being present on site. If required, we can integrate our technology into your BMS. Typically, the required interface to BACnet, Modbus or Saia S-BUS based protocols. 16 Components - fans Designs The choice of a suitable design depends first on the operating conditions. The following must be taken into consideration: the air flow the required pressure the available space Fans with open impellers utilizing backward curved blades are mainly used today. They are characterized by high efficiency and the fact that they generate high pressure. They can also be placed on the suction or pressure side of the components that are used, because they have a lower dynamic pressure in the outlet area. Taken together, this allows a flexible design whose air-handling units are energy-efficient and quiet. Motors Today, direct drive fan wheels have largely replace dated belt drive technology, increasing the life of the motors and reducing the pollution in the unit through abrasion. The speed control is typically done using a variable frequency drive converter for three-phase motors or by using a control signal for BLDC motors (EC motors). In both cases, the speed can be controlled as required by the DDC. EC fan module (EBM-Papst) in standard version with spider suspension (vibration-isolated mounting on the pressure bulkhead) BLDC motors are used to provide power up to about 11 kw (37,533 BTU/h). The benefits are manifested in the increased efficiency and using the outer rotor is uncomplicated. Models Certifications In general, fans do not take over safety functions unless they are explicitly designed and certified to do so. Typically, the maximum allowable temperature of the delivered air is 40 C (104 F). Special designs allow higher temperatures and are thus Retractable fan module (Ziehl-Abegg) in a coated version 16

17 suitable for smoke extraction. ATEX-compliant devices require fan modules that are mandatorily certified and explosion-proof. Materials Fan modules can be designed in different materials and coatings that affect its lifespan. Corrosion caused by aggressive atmospheres such as those found in the swimming pool area can lead to imbalance and at worst to the blades tearing off. Therefore, HANSA generally uses increased corrosion protection in their swimming pool dehumidification systems (HKG-PL-P/PWT/PT/DPT), which extends through the housing and all installed components. Installation situation Smaller fan modules are fully assembled on the pressure bulkhead (top left), including vibration isolation. This facilitates the necessary cleaning work and significantly lowers cost. Medium-size modules are designed as pull-out units (below left and above right). The vibration-isolated module is mounted on a rigid rail here. Very large modules are fix-mounted on a steel profile. 18 Components - energy recovery systems EEWärmeG 2011 Exhaust air (EA) Supply-air (SA) Outside-air (OA) Return-air (RA) The german Renewable Energies Heat Act (EEWärmeG 2011) required building owners to commit to proportionate use of renewable/regenerative energy for heating and cooling in new buildings. In 7 paragraph 1 (a), heat recovery in HVAC systems is defined as "an alternative measure for meeting required quotas." The requirements of the Renewable Energies Heat Act are met if the heat recovery in HVAC systems covering at least 50 % of the total heating and cooling energy demand of a building. In addition, regulation EU 1253/2014 have required minimum efficiencies for energy recovery systems since January 1st, 2016 and from January 1st, 2018, respectively. Plate heat exchanger Recuperators are typically designed as a cross-flow or cross-counterflow heat exchanger and implemented as a plate heat exchanger (PHE), or as a double plate heat exchanger (DPT, above right). As static systems, these recuperators are particularly uncomplicated. In addition, they provide for good air flow separation. The cross-counterflow heat exchanger is designed as a double plate exchanger (marked in red) in the P-iK compact air conditioning unit. Standard colors are used to indicate the air in the unit (OA=Green, SA=Blue, RA=Yellow, EA=Brown). RA OA SA In a plate heat exchanger, the return air-exhaust air and the outside airsupply air flows stream crosswise in layers past each other and are separated by plates. EA Depending on customer requirements, we install plate heat exchangers with increased corrosion protection or coatings for special applications (e.g. spray humidifier). A very flat design featuring counter-current heat exchangers (below right) that we use in our HKG-K-GP unit series is available. These units can be easily accommodated in suspended ceilings and are available in 800 and 1,600 m 3 / h ( CFM) performance classes. Counter-current heat exchanger with a bypass valve. 19 Thermal wheel The rotor (pictured left) is a regenerative heat exchanger with excellent heat and moisture recovery (with hygroscopic coating or through condensation). The ideal conditions for integrating these rotors are in the presence of high air flow rates and non-toxically polluted air. Rotors are installed in our successful Blue Line eco- R series devices that cover a broad range of line classes and come supplied ready for connection with the controller. Rotors are primarily used for high air flows. They are shown usually as depicted above, mounted for the factory test run and then disassembled again for transport. Outside air Exhaust air Exhaust air Supply air Return air Outside air Return air Supply air The Accubloc system operates with two storage masses, which alternately absorb and re-emit energy. Accubloc Compact ventilation units with highly efficient regenerative heat recovery can be implemented with the Accubloc (Polybloc) series (pictured left). Two separate storage masses take on moisture and energy from the exhaust air line and enter them in the supply air line. A particularly fast damper actuator ensures minimization of leaked air. Circuit compound systems Where separate ventilation systems for supply and exhaust air are realized, or where the air lines must be separated, the heat recovery can take place via the integrated circuit compound system (KVS). The heat carrier OA SA is a brine, which absorbs or supplies heat energy via the air-brine register. M EA RA The KVS is inherently robust against any pressure differences between the air lines and provides a perfect separation of exhaust and air intake. 20 Components - mechanical cooling Evaporative cooling HANSA offers a very successful evaporative cooling system (Blue Line ASB). On cooling request, the return air side of the plate heat exchanger is sprayed with water, resulting in cooling the return air adiabatically and detracting the energy used for evaporation of residual water from the plate heat exchanger. Without moving parts and including a cleaning mechanism, the Blue Line ASB system is nearly maintenance free. It uses the water very efficiently with little residue, preventing microbial growth. The outside-air cooling is up to 10 K (a change of 18 F). Typically, this is enough to reach the recommended temperature difference between inside and outside temperature of 6 K (a change of 10.8 F).
