High Efficiency HVAC Diffusers & Tubes Manufactured in Canada Developed in Germany with advancements of North America by 40 years expertise, our product architectural design is completely different. Now manufactured in Quebec, we pride ourselves with offering a "Made in Canada" product. Our manufacturer is a member of the Canada Green Building Council.

Induction is the act of causing or bring on or about Using this principle it is possible to move large masses of air in the desired direction with jets of air at low speed. The greatest achievements in these phenomena, is the mixture of primary air from the duct work with the ambient air of the room. This effect makes the air temperature difference isothermal (constant). Isothermal Isothermal DAL 358 Swirl Diffuser The DAL358 is a highly inductive swirl diffuser with a square or round front panel integrated with slotted rails with off-center drums made of ABS with sectional rectifiers. It is for general purpose use in closed and open ceiling system installations. Manufacturing concept allows for the delivery of large volumes of air Reduces air speed, temperature variances and excessive noise transmission Better air quality through mixture of fresh air with the existing air within the space Adjust the air stream horizontally and vertically, providing the occupants with maximum comfort Reduces construction costs because less diffusers are needed due to their high degree of efficiency LEED points eligible

Existing Air Entry of Diffusers Representation of conduit ventilation (a) according to standards, (b) normally installed. 98% of the existing facilities of North American do not comply with standards for uniformity of the airflow in a duct. DAL 358 Plenum Inside the plenum, a perforated grid is installed to stabilize the airflow towards the diffuser and to eliminate noise. The air leaves the diffuser at 360. With a high induction ratio, we obtain a better mixture of the primary air with the air of the room also providing a very low temperature variation. This eliminates the uneven distribution of the 80/20 ratio.

Cylinder Elements DAL358 The off-center drum support forms an airflow duct that conducts the air in circular paths. allows high discharge velocities with low sound power levels can control and direct the outputs by 4 x the typical induction individually supported and can rotate by 360 degrees a strong partial vacuum develops near the surface of the body of the drum Discharge Behavior

The form of the drums was conceived so that each positioning gives us a precise trajectory of the air. allowing the air to flow around obstacles such as light fixtures, ceiling protrusions or pillars adjust the air stream to any desired pattern, even after installation has taken place if diffusers are close to a wall, we are able to direct the flow of air in 2 or 3 ways Multiple forms of airflow, by varying the outlet air velocity and its acoustic low power, can be applied to various occupied room applications. Stratification of the Air A weak air circulation inside the occupied zone creates a multitude of layers of air at different temperatures. The cold air (denser) goes down to bottom of the room and the hot air (lighter) remain at the top of the ceiling. Heat released by lighting will also effect stratification. In the case of heating, most of the air entering the room approximately at 35 C slightly reaches the zone occupied because of the low level of induction of the standard diffusers. Most of the hot air will be evacuated by the return vents. The air while accumulating between the two ceilings thus forms a significant mass of hot air at a temperature approximately of 28 C.

De-stratification = Economy of Energy The DAL358 generates variations in temperature of 2 to 3 times less than the standard diffusers, the air temperature of return will be approximately 23 C. A difference of ± 13%. Annually, it represents energy saving of about $1,291 per office building of 15,000 square feet only by mixing the air in an effective way. Temperature Variation of Cooling With a flow rate of 420 cfm pulsating at 12 C, a standard diffuser reaches a variation in temperature of 2.3 C. The occupant feels a temperature of 19.7 C, in the case of a diffuser DAL358, the occupant feels a temperature of 21.3 C. We obtain a temperature variation in the occupied zone of 0.7 C The variation in temperature at breast height is directly related to the induction ratio. An accurate reading of the temperature of the room will allow more dehumidification.

Economy of Energy The savings of energy related to the management of air can be summarized in three parts: 1.Heating and air-conditioning of the primary air 2.De-stratification of the air 3.Reduction in the mechanical over-ventilation, over air conditioning/heating of the central zone Taking average costs of the thermal energy of 8.72 cents/kwh, we obtain a cost of $7,548 a year for the heating of the outdoor air and $2,879 a year for humidification. For a total of $10,427 a year. With the DAL358, it s possible to save approximately ±20% of the contribution of outdoor air. That represents an amount of $2,085 a year in savings. A building of 10 floors with an average of 15,000 square feet per floor, would save about $20,850 a year. Economy of Construction Part of the cost of installation of the secondary branches of the ventilation system is directly related to the number of diffusers installed. This installation requires more conduits and consequently is more expensive. The majority of buildings with open space use many standard diffusers (low ratio of induction) in order to ensure adequate ventilation of the occupied zone. The performance of the DAL359 diffuser in some applications reduces the number of diffusers by approximately half.

ORIGINAL PLAN 147 Diffusers & 47 Linear Diffusers COST $11, MATERIAL $12, INSTALLATION & BALANCING $21, TOTAL $44, MODIFIED PLAN 100 DAL 358 Diffusers & 12 Linear Diffusers COST $24, MATERIAL $ 7, INSTALLATION & BALANCING $12, TOTAL $43, DIFFERENCE: $1, St-Hyacinthe, Québec In 2004, the firm Teknika HBA was commissioned by ING Canada, a major insurance company as a consultant in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical for the expansion project of 10,000 m2 on a six-storey building. Two major technical challenges were: maximize space and ensure optimal comfort for office space. To meet the need of comfort, maximizing space and reducing drafts, the emphasis has been on the air diffusion. The high induction diffusers, European design, were used in the office space and cafeteria. The result was convincing. Imagine working spaces in a wedge of glass bottom to top, facing south; comfortable in all respects without base heaters and no effect of air flow. A rate of 3 ft3 of air per minute per square foot is released from the ceiling in the executive offices! The diffusers with high induction has reduced substantially the amount of duct work, diffusers and other accessories. We evaluated in phase concept that ING Canada could reduce the cost by $120,000 while having a better performance. The proposals have confirmed our analysis. Nicolas Bélanger, ING. Directeur mécanique-électricité Granby

Architectural Appearance Contrary to the traditional diffusers, the design of the DAL358 is integrated into the ceiling for a neater appearance. They are available in several classic designs and come in various architectural shapes and colors. Moreover, their superior performance contributes significantly to LEED certification of buildings. NAD Tube The NAD Tube is a high induction air diffuser, manufactured with polyester impregnated PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) and is impermeable to liquid. The PVC material is light and extremely flexible. This mechanism is attached with a rail system which allows for a quick installation. It is applicable to all buildings, easy to dismount, transport and clean with a simple swifter. Function in heating and air conditioning mode Designed based on the client s project requirements Significant energy savings Economical Virtually maintenance free

Principles of the NAD Tube The operation is based on the basic principle of the diffusion of air with high induction. Perforations of various diameters and their positioning on the NAD Tube (compared to the traditional diffusers) allows the air to leave the holes at high speed to produce an entrainment effect. This is done by moving the air around the tube with a large mass of ambient air. The heat exchange between supply air and ambient air is done near the NAD Tube and the temperatures are quickly close to isothermal. The risk of stratification is eliminated without creating drafts in occupied zones. Customized To Maximize Efficiency

NAD Tube Features Custom and Unique Every installation is unique to the facility. Based on mathematical models, we can maximize the uniformity of seasonal temperatures by determining the exact speed of velocity demand, dimensions of the jets and the necessary course of direction. Warranty Our product is made from various materials that are durable, fire proof and resistant to UV and acid vapors. They are treated for anti dust and offer a 10-year guarantee. Aesthetics We offer a wide array of colours to choose from blending into your decor. We can adapt and integrate into your existing architectural design too. Conservation Ranging from 30% to 35% by way of destratification, depending on the application and 80% to 100% energy saving for heating fresh air during winter time. LEED points eligible. 13 Energy-Efficient Technologies: Innovation, Future Outlook and Verification Energy efficiency technologies are continuously evolving in response to industry needs and demands. New technologies, those on the horizon, and how they are tested and verified in Canada, were the topics of discussion at an Energy 2009 panel session. Alain Dufresne from NAD Klima described a new type of air duct developed by his company that operates on the principle of mixing air to make it isothermal. "The temperature differential between the floor and the ceiling of a facility will be less than 0.2 C," noted Dufresne in describing his company s innovations. The duct is made out of fabric with thousands of holes that create a ventilation effect that quickly mixes air from the floor of a facility to the ceiling. Easy to install and clean, the tubes allow intake air to be heated on demand. Customized piercing of the tubes allows for adjustments to desired air pressure and velocity. A tube of 90 to 150 metres can be installed on tracks in one day. In one installation, one long tube replaced one facility s entire duct work for a 30% annual energy savings or the equivalent of $385,000. The tubes can also be arranged to "make air curtains that prevent cold air from entering." Applications in industry include the plastics manufacturing sector and printing plants wherever heat is generated and there is air intake. The tubes eliminate air movement issues, and in comparison to large fans, are quiet. As well, air temperature remains constant throughout the plant. Similarly, in the summer, the tubes homogenize temperatures in the entire facility by using cooled air. New technologies and innovation are critical to moving energy efficiency forward. Developments in combustion technologies as showcased by CanmetENERGY, and the new air duct tubes designed by NAD Klima are current examples of advances that hold promise. - Montreal Bakery High induction air diffusion tubes provide energy savings at Kraft bakery Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC) Newsletter March 2010 Installing innovatively-designed air diffusion tubes at Kraft Canada Inc. s Montreal Bakery, is estimated to save the company about 210,000 cubic metres (m3) of natural gas annually. As David Binet, Continuous Improvement Engineer, explains for an exothermic process like ours, using induction tubes to increase the amount of fresh air in the plant and reduce heating costs will be very beneficial. While the tubes have addressed a major concern achieving significant energy savings, Claude Ménard, Project Engineer at Formatrix 67, air treatment specialists working with Kraft, indicates that

other issues have also been resolved. Keeping the facility under positive air pressure was an ongoing concern and the semi-automatic ventilation control was in need of modernization. After evaluating different factors such as outside air temperature and performance of existing air tubes, Binet and the company s corporate sustainability team decided to install NAD tubes. The high induction air diffusion tubes are designed to ensure temperature, humidity and air density uniformity. The project completed in June 2009, during a two-week shutdown, included the installation of 8 30metre long, 1.2-metre wide metal air diffusion tubes in the oven area; automation of the entire ventilation process; installation of two additional air handlers to increase heat recovery and comfort; and removal of the make-up air unit. In the case of the Montreal bakery, the customized piercing pattern in the tubes mixes existing warm air with outdoor air allowing the facility to operate at lower, more uniform temperatures without consuming energy to heat incoming air. We can bring in air as low as -7 C without condensation, says Binet. Moreover the comfort level for employees has increased noticeably. Additional benefits include low maintenance, easy cleaning and limited dust build up. Pleased with the reduction in gas consumption seen to date, Binet recommends that other companies in similar situations as the Montreal Bakery consider these tubes as an alternative to conventional air diffusion systems. RRA 387 Circular Duct Diffuser RRA 387 is for visible mounting in commercial areas, and can be used as a part of the room s interior design. They are particularly suitable when technology should have not only a functional purpose but also an element of design. These diffusers can be used in commercial and industrial areas. The discharge patterns available through these diffusers make it ideal to solve just about any climate control application in an uncomplicated and comfortable manner. The RRA accommodates new trends in architectural design extremely well with the brilliant luster of its baked-on paint, in addition to being very easy to maintain. RRA Method of Operation The linear duct outlet can be installed at any point or segment and in any position (horizontal or vertical) in an existing duct system. Air flows through the duct outlet lengthwise and is first discharged vertically and can then be diverted according to the cylinder setting. It is possible to have multiple ducts in a pipeline.

Product Benefits Adjustable setting of discharge direction from high-diffusion to vertical Easily adaptable to any changes in the room use Combination of all discharge patterns in one diffuser Rapid temperature and velocity reduction when cooling Can be installed at any point in a circular duct system (horizontal or vertical) Can be installed onto any duct or fittings with ISO norms Individual color schemes RRA 387
