Sharps disposal kits can be picked up from the Waste Management/Blue Barrel yard at Springbrook Road, Saugus, CA from 8-5, Monday through Friday. Your first kit is free, the second is available at a $5.00 co-pay. Seniors may receive 2 kits free, with any additional kits available for a $5.00 co-pay. Limit one at a time. Fill up your kit at your own convenience. When it is full, simply mail it back using the pre-paid postage label that is included in the kit. Please make sure to sign the form that is included on the front pocket of your kit. Waste Management will ensure your sharps are disposed of safely. Large Furniture (couches, mattresses, tables, etc.) Free Drop-Offs at WM Yard The illegal dumping of waste can pose a significant public health, environmental, and safety issue to the City of Santa Clarita. Furniture, mattresses, other large items and trash are routinely dumped on sidewalks and alleys this not only looks bad, but it is costly for public works employees to clean up. The good news is there s no need to dump illegally, because Waste Management offers free bulky item drop-offs at the Waste Management/ Blue Barrel Yard at Springbrook Road, Saugus, CA from 8-5, Monday through Friday. Acceptable items for drop off include extra trash and recycling, electronic waste, tires, yard clippings, and bulky items like furniture, mattresses and appliances. You can also drop off and donate your gently used clothing at the new Salvation Army drop box located at the Waste Management/ Blue Barrel Yard. Donating your clothing is a simple, convenient and charitable way to reduce the amount of waste you send to the landfill, all while helping your fellow community members in need.
