45 Concluding Remarks Operations & Maintenance in PV (at least team involvem ent) should start m uch earlier than when the PV system starts producing electricity. In fact, it is a key focus area throughout the entire project lifetim e; Cu ttin g c orn e rs in d e sig n a n d p roje ct e xe cu tion w ill fin d its w a y to developers/system owner s later; Data is key! No data = no knowledge can be gained from your asset nor created for the good of Photovoltaics; However, cost-effectiveness of O&M spending is a crucial m etric for the project success, in line with business plan expectations; O&M partners/contractors: how m uch are they bringing to the table?
