3 Shield strength & style Built tough to withstand any attack All the materials that go into our products are the very best available. Our doors are the marriage of artistic design with technical know-how. We go to further lengths to assure our doors are indeed burglar proof, than any other doors on the market. We offer full installation of our products anywhere in the world We use 2 plates of drill resistant Manganese, a hard metal alloy, on the door locks. We place the locks into a protective steel box within the door. We place six locking points on the external side of the door and an additional two paired directed upward and downwards on the opposing side. We conceal the locking pins with not just a single sheet but rather by 15mm of fixed profile of the door case. Integral top and bottom locking points. Stainless steel threshold. Hinges with supporting bearings, covered with stainless steel hinge caps. Four fixed hinge side bolts. A separate protective sleeve secures each locking pin in the frame on all edges. Door is double sealed. Our hinges are 16mm pins with eight locking points. We cover the door frames with panels consisting of two layers of grading and a layer of sheeting, so if the external layer of grating is disturbed or damaged the door is still protected. We use a double thermal insulation sheet with a layer of pressurized stone wool on both sides. This provides excellent noise and thermal insulation. Outside and inside architraves. They tried crowbars, hammers, cutting and drilling tools but were not able to break in. This door is impenetrable. After these tests, the Shield Premium door was awarded the 4th security class (WK4 according to EN 1627:2011 standard). where at least one of the locks installed in this door model must be no lower than 7th security class. Shield Premium has excellent sound insulation (45 db) and protects against fire for up to 45 minutes (EI45). The new Shield Premium FB is a bullet-proof version of the door, which was tested at the Beschussamtes Ulm laboratory in Germany, achieving EN1522 standard. The door was awarded a level of bullet resistance of FB4, capable of resisting shots from a 9 mm handgun. The door can be single or double, supplied with bullet-proof glass, and can open both inwards and outwards. Nachweis Wärmedurchgangskoeffizient Evidence of Performance Burglar Resistance Armoured locks protected by two drilling-resistant manganese plates. Main and additional locks are installed in protective steel boxes. Security hinges have height adjustment mechanisms. On the hinge side there are eight 16mm diameter locking bolts. 5 6 On the lock side, there are six locking bolts and two additional bolts directed upwards and downwards. Each bolt is protected by a steel sleeve in the door frame. The inner door is of a combined structure: grating, steel sheet and grating again. Double thermal insulation: a 3 cm layer of rock wool on both sides of the steel sheet provides excellent noise and thermal insulation. 6 Tests and certificates Hot stuff The design and testing that makes a Shield security fire door special To ensure the security of our doors we are constantly running tests at the famous IFT Rosenheim testing laboratory in Germany. We never become complacent. We re always looking for ways to improve the security of our doors. We also test our doors to ensure that they remain unchanged over long periods of use by simulating the door usage you will give it at home only we re much harsher on them then you will ever be. Certification of Bullet resistance We have range of bullet-proof doors for customers with special security needs. All ballistic tests were carried out to the strictest German standards. We punish our doors by opening and shutting them over 200,000 times, just to ensure that they still have the same level of security they had the first time they were opened. We also test for durability, wind, water and fire resistance and the ability to withstand impact. These tests continue to prove the level of excellence that is built into every one of our doors, and the security, reliability and seamless operation of every product we sell. Certification of Burglar resistance Burglar resistance tests are also carried out at the IFT Rosenheim laboratory in Germany. Fire testing of a wood finish steel security door. The door faces into a furnace heated to 1000C. Thermocouples on the other side of the door collect data on temperature transmission. To pass the fire test the door should not be hotter than 140C. The door successfully passed the test having a temperature of 90C. During tests fire doors can deform repeatedly in all three dimensions. Because this is a highly complex unpredictable process, it is necessary to carry out many tests and manual measurements. To allow for all contingencies two door arrangements are tested. On the left an outside opening security door has deformed centrally towards the viewer. On the right an inner opening security door has deformed centrally away from the viewer. The deformations are measured by fire technician. Special fire resistant elements increase the resistance of the inner door steel structure so that it can withstand the fire for one hour with minimal deformation. In this case the doors were tested installed in a light concrete block wall. Certification of Fire resistance Shield Security Doors provide protection against fires accidental or deliberate. Tests are carried out to meet UK fire ratings as well as regulations in strictest certified European laboratories. Certification of Durability: EN1191 Shield doors are automatically opened and closed over 200,000 times to ensure that they still have the same level of security they had the first time they were opened. Certification of Thermal Transmission Shield doors are Energy Efficiency-rated to keep heat indoors and the cold outside. Certification of sound insulation The furnace burning at 1000C for 53 min heated the door to such a high temperatures that one wooden panel ignited. Resisting the fire for 45min, means that it is possible to manufacture doors larger than those tested and still meet the EI 45 standard. The intense heat of a 1000C transmitted through the thick steel hinge heated the wooden panel and it ignited. The test was stopped at 56min. The door meets the EI 45 by EN :2000 standard. After an hour at 1000C the wooden exterior of the door has been stripped away exposing the engineered inner steel structure. This resilient patented steel structure withstands temperature deformation by allowing small controlled localized deflections. All door types are carefully examined after the test is finished. Samples of the materials are taken for further examination to help in the design of new improved security fire doors. Shield doors are tested to ensure that noisy conditions are kept out.
