Construction and Materials 1,250m2 display space the largest in South East England. Re-enforced concrete structure ( thermal sink ) with an exterior consisting of zinc panels and render.

Solid frontage designed to contrast with the glazed façade of the Congress Theatre. 3 floors of gallery space, art store, community/meeting rooms, café with terrace, shop and welcome area. Resin and concrete finishes used throughout.

An alarm system alerts and logs any fluctuations in temperature or humidity. Filters on air intakes and on recycled air ducts. Service contract with Imtech Inviron.

8 Lighting Prior to LEDs! Galleries lit by bespoke light boxes ( Barrisols ) containing individual fluorescent tubes. Programmable through ilight software Erco Parscan spotlights also used - programmed using ilight software.

Needed to develop new stand alone policies & procedures: More attractive to funders eligible for wider range of funding. Speedier process for purchasing much more control.
