2 UPS/NTA GB/DSMONOEXPC1.B - page 1/23 Certificate of Warranty The warranty conditions are stipulated in the sales contract, if not the following points shall apply. The manufacturer exclusively guarantees his own products against any defect in construction or operation arising from faulty design, materials or workmanship according to the conditions set down below. The manufacturer, at his discretion, is entitled to adapt his product in order to comply with the warranty or replace the faulty parts. The manufacturer s warranty does not apply in the following cases: - Defects arising either from designs or parts imposed or supplied by the Purchaser. - Failure due to fortuitous circumstances or force majeure. - Replacements or repairs resulting from normal wear of units and machinery, - Damage or injuries caused by negligence, lack of inspection or maintenance, or improper use of the products. The period of validity of the warranty may never exceed 12 months after delivery. Replacements, repairs or modifications of parts during the warranty period cannot extend the duration of the warranty. For these stipulations to be valid, the Purchaser must, within a maximum of 8 days beyond which the warranty lapses, expressly inform the Manufacturer of the faulty design, or the material or manufacturing defect, stating in detail the grounds for his complaint. Defective parts replaced free of charge by the Manufacturer are to be put at his disposal, so that he may become the sole owner. The warranty legally ceases if the Purchaser has, of his own initiative, undertaken modifications or repairs on the Manufacturer s products without the written consent of the latter. The Manufacturer s liability is limited to the obligations as defined herein (repair or replacement), all other items of damage being formally excluded. The Purchaser is liable for taxes or duties of any kind in compliance with either the European regulations, or those of the country of import or transit.

3 UPS/NTA GB/ DSMONOEXPC1.B - page 2 FOREWORD We thank you for the trust you have in our Uninterruptible Power Supply. This equipment is fitted with up to date technology. t is provided with power semiconductors (GBT) with a digital micro-controller. Our equipment complies with standard EN referring to Uninterruptible Power Supply, and to the standard CE (specific standard for UPS). SAFETY REQUREMENTS Using conditions: Do read carefully these operation instructions before installing the UPS. Whatever the repairs, they must be made only by authorized staff who have been suitably trained. t is recommended that the ambient temperature and humidity of the UPS environment are maintained below the values specified by the manufacturer. This equipment meets the requirements of the European directives applied to this product. As a consequence it is labelled as follows: This equipment is designed to a restricted distribution in compliance with the conditions defined by the standard EN As a consequence, restrictions to the installation or complementary steps may be needed to prevent possible electromagnetic interference.

5 UPS/NTA GB/ DSMONOEXPC1.B - page 4 1. SAFETY ADVCE - Carefully follow the instructions described in this manual. - All handling must only be carried out by personnel who are suitably trained. CAUTON Do not forget that even when the load is stopped the unit is live: - because of the mains voltage the rectifier and the by-pass. - because of the voltage generated by the battery and by the rectifier. - because of the load voltage when the manual by-pass Q5 is closed and the by-pass mains is present. DANGER - Once the UPS is disconnected, wait 5 minutes for the capacitors to discharge. - the residual voltage of the capacitors may still cause heavy electrical arcs after 5 minutes. 2. PURPOSE AND UPS COMPOSTON The single-phase DELPHYS DS static supply protects the connected load, and maintains: - the supply continuity, - the voltage stability, - the frequency stability, whatever outages or disturbances on the upstream mains. When the upstream mains is present, the UPS acts as a stabilizer. n the event of a mains failure, it acts as a source of electrical power. n such case, the required power is supplied by the battery, which is kept charged when the mains is present. The UPS provides single-phase sinusoidal output. The UPS is composed of: - 1 fully controlled three-phase rectifier, - 1 single-phase P.W.M. (Pulse Width Modulation) inverter, - 1 static by-pass to transfer the load automatically and without interruption to the mains in the event of an overload, - 1 manual by-pass which allows a break-free load transfer to the mains during maintenance handling, - 1 battery, - 1 control panel made up of a mimic panel, an 8-line display and an intuitive user interface.

JBUS LNK PROGRAMMNG baudrate: Parity: NONE Slave: FLOATNG CORRECTON ACCORDNG TO THE TEMPERATURE DELPHYS DS UPSs can be fitted with a temperature probe enabling the adjustment of the rectifier floating voltage according to the battery ambient temperature. This feature ensures a greater reliability of the battery life. Floating voltage values are to be used in accordance with the data provided by the battery manufacturer. Equipment required: An additional temperature probe (provided as a standard in our cabinets) mounted in the battery room and connected to the unit on the "input - output FU610" interface PCB. Principle: - Battery manufacturers impose an accurate floating voltage per cell for a given temperature, usually 2,25V/cell at 25 C or 2,27V/cell at 20 C. - Between 0 and 45 C, the floating voltage is adjusted according to a «slope» that can be set by the factory for each type of battery. This slope can range from 2mV to 8mV/ C/cell. - The battery temperature displayed on the control panel can vary from 0 to 75 C. - n case the ambient temperature exceeds 45 C, the floating voltage remains at the floating value of 45 C. An alarm for the battery is given: - if the temperature exceeds 40 C, - if the temperature sensor or the connection system fails. Ufloating(V) 422, mV/ C/cell 4mV/ C/cell 8mV/ C/cell T( C)

24 UPS/NTA GB/ DSMONOEXPC1.B - page OVERLOAD MONTORNG 9.1. n mode normal Principle: The UPS overload monitoring is based on reference levels. The overload principle can be compared to a tank, filling up more or less rapidly. Signalling and automatic actions: The UPS OVERLOAD alarm is activated if: - the load rate exceeds 103% ("LOAD ON NVERTER"), - the load rate exceeds 105% ("LOAD ON MANS"). The alarm disappears if the load rate drops below 100% Typical UPS overload < 30 C (load on inverter) Overload rate Transfer to mains is possible Transfer to mains is impossible 110% 30 minutes 60 minutes 125% 10 minutes 10 minutes 150% 30 seconds 1 minute NOTE: Should an extended overload occur, the static contactor warms up which results in the disconnection of the load after some time. f the load is supplied by the by-pass mains following an automatic transfer, no return to the inverter is possible as long as the UPS is overloaded and the UPS OVERLOAD alarm has not been reset n eco mode The UPS OVERLOAD alarm is activated when the load rate exceeds 105%. n such a case, the static contactor warms up. When the by-pass general alarm is given, the static contactor stops conducting and the load is therefore no longer supplied. 10. REMANNG BACK UP TME The remaining back up time is displayed on the control panel when the UPS operates in autonomy. The calculation is obtained from the battery capacity and the Ampères per hour consumed by the load.
