Fire protection cabinets for the following: a. Portable fire extk guishers. 1.3 ACTION SUBMITTALS Prodnct Data: For each type of product indicated, lnciade constrnction details, material descriptions, dimensions of individual components and profiles, and finishes for fire protection cabh ets. Fire Protection Cabinets: lnclnde roughing-in dimensions, details showing inonnting methods, relationships of box and trim to snrrounding construction, door hardware, cabinet type, trim style, and panel style. Shop Drawings: For fire protection cabiaets, lnclode plans, elevations, sections, details, and attachments to other work. 1.4 CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS Maintenance Data: For fire protection cabinets to inclnde in maintenance manuals. 1.5 COORDINATION Coordhmte size of fire protection cabinets to ensnre that type and capacity of fire extingnishers indicated are accommodated. B. Coordhmte sizes and locations of fire protection cabinets with wall depths. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1 MATERIALS Stainless-Steel Sheet: ASTM A 666, Type

2 B. Tempered Float Glass: ASTM C 1048, Kind FT, Condition A, Type 1, Qaality q3, 3 mm thick, Class 1 (clear). 2.2 FIRE PROTECTION CABINET Cabinet Type: Suitable for fire extinguisher. 1. Products: Snbject to compliance with requirements,provide one of the following: Fire End & Croker Corporation J. L. Industries, Inc., a division of Activar Construction Products Group Kidde Residential and Commercial Division, Subsidiary of Kidde plc Larsen's Manufactaring Compauy Cabinet Constraction: Nom'ated. Cabinet Material: Slainless-steel sheet. 1. Shelf: Same metal and finish as cabinet. Semirecessed Cabinet: Cabiuet box partially recessed in walls of sufficient depth to sait style of trim iodlcated; with role-piece combination trim and perimeter door flame overlapping surrounding wall surface with exposed trim face and vall return at outer edge (backbend). Provide where walls are of insufficient depth for recessed cabinets but are of sufficient depth to accommodate semirecessed cabinet installation. 1. Rolled-Edge Trim: 2-1/2-iuch backbend depth. Cabinet Trim Material: Stainless-steel sheet. F. G. H. 1. Door Material: Stainless-steel sheet. Door Style: Vertical duo panel with frame. Door Glazing: Tempered float glass (clear). Door Hardware: Manufacturer's standard door-operating hardware of proper type for cabinet type, h'im style, and door material and style indicated. Accessories: Provide recessed dora' pull and friction latch. Provide continuous hinge, of same materinl and finish as trim, permitting door to open 180 degrees. Mounting Bracket: Manufacturer's standard steel, designed to secare fire extinguisher to fire protection cabinet, of sizes required for types and capacities of fire extingaishers indicated, with plated or baked-euamel finish. Door Lock: Cam lock/hat allows door to be opened during emergency by pulling sharply on door handle. Identification: l.,ettering complyiog with authorities having jurisdiction for letter style, size, spacing, and location. Stainless Steel: No FABRICATION Fire Protection Cabiuets: Provide manufacturer's standard box (tub) with trim, frame, door, and hardware to suit cabinet type, trim style, and door style indicated. 1. Weld joints and grind smooth. 2. Provide factory-drilled monnting holes. 3. Prepare doors and flames to receive locks. 4. Install door locks at factory. Cabinet Doors: Fabricate doors according to manufactarer's standards, from materials indicated and coordinated with cabinet types and lrin styles selected. 1. Fabricate door flames with tubular stiles and rails and hollow-metal design, miuimum 1/2 incl thick. 2. Fabricate door frames of one-piece const a ction with edges flanged. 3. Miter and weld perimeter door frames. C. Cabinet Trim: Fabricate cabinet tvhn in one piece with corners mitered, welded, and grouted smooth. 2.4 GENERAL FINISH REQUIREMENTS B. C. D. Comply with NAAMM's "Metal Finisbes Manual for Architectural and Metal Products" for recommendations for applying and designating finishes. Protect mechauical finishes on exposed snrfaces of fire protection cabinets from damage by applying a strippable, temporary protective covering before shipping. Finish fire protection cabinets after assembly. Appearance of Finished Work: Noticeable variations in same piece are not acceptable. Variations in appearance of adjoining components are acceptable if they are within the range of approved Samples and are assembled or installed to miminize contrast. 2.5 STAINLESS-STEEL FINISHES B. Surface Preparation: Remove tool and die marks and stretch lines, or blend into finish. Polished Finishes: Grind and polish snrfaces to produce uniform finish, free of cross scratches. Run grain of directioual finishes with Ioug dimension of each piece. When polishing is completed, passivate and rinse surfaces. Remove embedded foreigu matter and leave surfaces chemically clean. Directional Satin Finish: No

4 PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMANATION Examine walls and partitions for suitable f aming depth and blocking where semirecessed cabinets will be installed. B. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. 3.2 PREPARATION Prepare recesses for semirecessed fire protection cabinets as reqoired by type and size ofcabioet and trim style. 3.3 INSTALLATION General: Install fire protection cabinets in locations and at moonting heights indicated: 1. Fire Protection Cabinets: 54 inches above finished floor to top of cabinet. B. Fire Protection Cabinets: Fasten cabinets to stn ch re, square and plumb. 1. Fasten mounting brackets to inside surface of fire protection cabinets, square and plumb. 3.4 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING Remove temporary protective coverings and strippable films, if any, as fire protection cabinets ale installed unless otherwise indicated in manufacturer's written iastallation instructions. B. Adjust fire protection cabinet doors to operate easily without binding. devices operate properly. Verify that integral locking C. D. On completion of llre protection cabinet installation, clean interior and exterior surfaces as recommended by manofacturer. Touch up marred finishes, or replace fire protection cabinets that cannot be restored to factory-f'mished appearance. Use only materials and procedares recommended or furnished by llre protection cabinet and moonting bracket manufactarers. Replace fire protection cabinets that have been damaged or have deteriorated beyood successful repair by finish toochop or similar minor repair procedares. END OF SECTION

Include rating and classification, material descriptions, dimeosions of individual components and profiles, and finishes for fire extinguisher and mounfing braekels. 1.4 CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS Operation and Maintenance Data: For fire extingnishers to include io maintenance manuals. 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE NFPA Compliance: Fabricate and label fire exth guishers to comply with NFPA 10, "Portable Fire Extinguishers." B. Fire Extinguisbers: Listed aod labeled for type, rating, and classification by an independent testing agency acceptable to aothorities having jurisdictioo. 1. Provide fire extinguishers approved, listed, and labeled by FMG. 1.6 COORDINATION Coordinate type and capacity of fire extinguishers with fire protection cabinets to ensnre fit and fimctiou. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION Examine fire extinguishers for proper charging aud tagging. 1. Remove and replace damaged, defective, or uadercharged fire extinguishers. B. Proceed witb installation only after unsatisfactory couditions have been corrected. 3.2 INSTALLATION General: lustall fire extinguishers and mounting brackets in each fire extinguisher cabinet indicated and in compliance with requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.
