Phoenix Orchids Plant List Updated: 2/27/16 Phalaenopsis Stem Propagations Phal. Ambo Buddha Phoenix FCC/CCE/AOS (Brother Buddha x amboinensis) A spectacular plant with vivid nonfading color. This plant will grow keikis at its base quite freely and makes quite a specimen plant when well grown. This is the only cultivar of the cross to receive a CCE and when it did, it carried 40 flowers and eight buds on seven branched spikes! Natural Spread 7.1 cm. Blooming size. Price reduced was $100, now $75. Phal. Andalusia 'Eugene Maduro' AM/AOS (Aruba x violacea) An absolutely incredible flower! Large and full formed for the cross, the flowers are brilliant, bright purple with heavy substance. This plant is a phenomenal breeder of purple flowers and has produced 10 awarded progeny for us plus two AQs. Natural Spread 6.5 cm. Old spikes will rebloom. Only one blooming size plant. $200 Phal. An Tai Spot Delight AM/AOS (Paifang s Queen x John Ewing) We received an Award of Quality on this cross and all the awarded cultivars are robust growing plants that will keiki at their bases making great specimen plants. In addition, the flowers have a wonderful sweet fragrance and last a long time. The flowers of this cultivar have a tremendous eye appeal making them one of our favorites. Natural spread 6.6 cm. Only one large, blooming size plant. $150 1
Phal. An Tai Spot Mary AM/AOS (Paifang s Queen x John Ewing) This plant received the highest point score of the cross 84 points - and had seventeen flowers and 10 buds on four inflorescences (two branched) when awarded. A fertile pollen/pod parent and possible tetraploid. Natural Spread 6.6 cm. Only one blooming size keiki. $250 Phal. An Tai Spot Splotchy #2 AM/AOS (Paifang s Queen x John Ewing) We received an Award of Quality on this cross and all the awarded cultivars are robust growing plants that will keiki at their bases making great specimen plants. In addition, the flowers have a wonderful sweet fragrance and last a long time. When the cross received the AQ, the flowers of this plant were the judge s favorite. Natural Spread 6.0 cm. Only one blooming size plant. $100 Phal. bellina v. Murtoniana Leprechaun AM/CBR/CCM/AOS (Species) Note that we are not taxonomists and are relying on the taxonomic work previously performed and required to receive an AOS award. This is the rare murtoniana form of the species. This species is now classified as Phal. bellina, but was awarded as Phal. violacea. When this plant received its CCM, it carried 19 flowers and 15 buds on 6 spikes. It s a very floriferous plant! Natural spread 5.5. Only one plant. $300 Phal. Coral Isles Lung Ching AM/AOS (Princess Kaiulani x lueddemanniana) This is one of only two awarded cultivars and in our opinion is the best. When awarded it had 12 flowers and 8 buds on three spikes with a new spike emerging. Fragrant. Natural Spread 6.0 cm. Blooming size. Price reduced was $200, now $150. 2
Phal. Corningiana Carol HCC/AOS (species) A very good example of the species. When awarded this plant had 18 flowers and 5 buds on 4 spikes. Blooming size. $150 Phal. Dotty Woodson Claudette HCC/AOS (Tabasco Tex x George Vasquez) This is one of only two awarded cultivars and in our opinion it s the better of the two. When awarded it had 6 flowers and 5 buds on two spikes. It has bred one awarded progeny for us and we are continuing to use it in our breeding program. Old spikes will rebloom. Fragrant. Natural spread 5.1 cm. Blooming size. Price reduced was $200, now $150. Phal. Harford's Gem 'Amber Fire' HCC/AOS (amboinensis x Annapolis) The flowers of this plant are very unusual in that the red patterning on each flower is slightly different (as shown in the photo). When awarded it had 9 flowers and 3 buds, so makes a nice display. Natural Spread 5.0 cm. Old spikes will rebloom. Fragrant. Blooming size. $150 Phal. I-Hsin George JH (Penang Girl x George Vasquez) A very colorful flower that we are using in our breeding program. Limited. $125 3
Phal. Jimbo JL#1 (gersenii x venosa) A beautiful and interesting recently named primary hybrid. Under our conditions, this plant forms basal keikis, so has the potential to become a striking specimen plant. Price reduced was $175 now $100 Phal. Kung s Princess Lena CCM/AOS (Princess Kaiulani x venosa) When it received the CCM this plant had 38 flowers and one bud on 9 spikes! Fragrant. Natural spread 4.7 cm. Only one blooming size plant. $150 Phal. Kuntrarti Rarashati Bunker Hill (equestris x venosa) A tetraploid form of the cross that is proving to be a useful parten. Fragrant. Blooming size. $50 Phal. Malibu Imp Anna Mae AM/AOS (amboinensis x Luedde-Violacea) This is an old and hard to find cultivar of a cross that has been used to breed some great crosses. We ve used this plant in our breeding program over a period of many years and it has produced awarded progeny for us. The color, even by today s standards, is excellent. Natural spread 5.0 cm. Limited. $150 4
Phal. Mem. David Goo Garnet AM/AOS (Sweet Memory x Zuma Garnet) We are happy to be able to offer this plant for the very first time. This is the darkest one of the cross that we have bloomed and is a personal favorite. Awarded 81 points on 5/15/14. Fragrant. Blooming size. Price reduced was $100, now $75. Phal. Olatt Diane AM/AOS (Coral Isles x Tigerette) Originally awarded in 1982, this has become a hard to find plant. Old spikes will rebloom. Fragrant. Natural spread 5.3 cm. Price reduced was $75, now $50. Phal. Palace Reef TH (Penang Girl x Coral Isles) The fragrant flowers are red-purple with good form and heavy substance. Don t cut off the old spikes as they will rebloom. Natural spread about 5.3 cm. Only one blooming size plant. $40 Phal. Penang Girl Taipei (violacea x venosa) A really fine form of this primary hybrid. Old spikes will rebloom. Fragrant. Blooming size. Price reduced was $175, now $150 5

We got it awarded in 2012 with 34 flowers and 1 bud on two branched spikes. We are using it in our breeding program with excellent results. Natural spread 5.6 cm. Blooming size, but limited. $75 Dtps. Sogo Manager Neo HCC/AOS (Phal. Brother Lawrence x Dtps. Autumn Sun) This plant put out a great display and took Best Phal. 7 SPECIAL SELECTIONS (SELECT PLANTS) If you re looking for a one-of-a-kind high quality plant, we have a few that we have specially selecteds. These plants have bloomed and have been selected by us for their high quality in color and form. Most are very colorful and some may have award potential, while others have received awards. Our Condition of Sale does not apply to these plants and you are free to duplicate and sell them if you wish. Discounts do not apply to these plants. Phal. Okay Petit Hot These plants are all from our cross of venosa Frank Smith HCC/AOS x Dotty Woodson Orchidland and they are very large plants. We ve noticed when we bloom these that they generally bloom a little more yellow in our extremely hot summers, but in fall they bloom more magenta/red. The numbers after each plant are not cultivar names, just numbers so we can tell one plant from another. You are free to assign your own cultivar names to any of these that you purchase. If I had the room I d keep all of these, but unfortunately I don t so am offering them here for the very first time. Phal. Okay Petit Hot #2 $150 Phal. Okay Petit Hot #5 $150 7
