1 May/June 2009 Presidents Message AsDawnandIreflectedonourtwo year termasco presidents,wearemostproud ofhowwellthebranchmembersworked together.membersralliedtoassistwith thebooksalesandtheproceedswere unprecedented,andwemetthebranch s commitmenttosupportscholarships.we usedthepayequityeventstohelpraise awarenessofthestatusofwomeninthe workplace.wehadtwowell attended soupandfilmgatheringswhereweshared delicioushomemadesoupsandthoughtful discussions.membershipremainedstable. Wehostedthe ThreeCupsofTea presentationbyjerenemortensonandhad outstandingbranchandcommunity participationandraisedalmost$3500to supportthecentralasiainstitute.wehad stimulatingpresentationsfromguestlike CathySultandiscussingherlatestbook andkatebowmanexplainingthethree wavesoffeminism.wecelebratedthe Branch s50thanniversarywithagrand eventatfannyhill.allofthiswas possiblebecauseofyou.
