5 The Challenge Our clients wanted to update their 1990s home as well as open their kitchen to create a true great room. The Vision To rearrange the main floor space and update the finishes for the new home feel without moving. The Solution By removing the main dividing wall in the kitchen and some small pantry closets, we were able to create the living space they wanted. In the new design, the sink was moved to an island and the existing kitchen window space was replaced with cabinetry. To compensate for the absence of natural sunlight due to the window infill, we added a transom window above the upper cabinets along the vault line. The master bath was updated by removing the tiled soaking tub and installing a free-standing tub along with new finishes. The guest bath was enlarged by incorporating a hall linen closet into the bathroom and all finishes were updated. Pantry-style cabinets were installed in the utility for more storage. 428 W. He wanted to maintain a traditional look, while she wanted a fresher, more contemporary aesthetic. We needed to find a middle ground that incorporated design aspects that would appeal to both. The Vision Keep the owners happy by blending contemporary design elements with existing traditional components by keeping the original cabinetry and other fixed elements. The Solution We kept the original cherry cabinetry, but updated the hardware. The new design incorporated crisp lines, an industrial-inspired faucet, a stainless apron sink, a stark contrast of bright white against rich walnut, metal accents, and a bright, clean marble splash for a whole new look and feel. A fireplace update, new bedroom carpet, and master bath flooring were also part of the remodel. The Results Work is still in progress at the time of this printing come see the final result during the tour!

The Solution We would swap some tub space for shower space. It would require losing a window, but the new glass shower would visually open up and brighten the room. The Results Beautiful!

A grand and functional shower with an integrated soaker tub that, now easier to access, would get more use. Instead of just repairing the home to its original state, the clients decided to improve their home by adding a second story and a front porch and remodeling the home completely. The project was started by another contractor; we took over the project early in the demolition phase. The Vision Recreate the charm of an older home with modern amenities. The Solution We completed the demolition and rebuilt the home to plans and specifications from studs in and out. A second floor was added, new HVAC system installed, and new plumbing and electrical from scratch. Also included in the remodel was smart home technology, hardwood and tile floors, and master bath steam and shower setup. Much care and concern were given to existing moldings and flooring. The original hardwood floors were preserved by request and every creak is still there. New flooring was added as needed but blends in beautifully. The Vision The design and planning stages were delightful, working with this old bones structure and homeowners eager to bring the Old-World beauty back to their home. The Solution A larger open kitchen concept was designed while maintaining the character of the 1910-old structure. Innovative new finishes were incorporated into the design for a fresh look and feel. The Results This North End home is now ready for years of love and comfort. Our homeowners can now entertain large parties of guests or have a quiet evening at home. The result is a timeless interior with lasting aesthetics.

13 The Challenge The initial thought was how are we going to execute a kitchen remodel with a family of seven and their incredibly busy lives? The family set up a make-shift kitchen and used their outside patio as the substitute kitchen and dining area. Strategically, the remodeling process occurred during the summer months of The Vision Create a beautiful and functional kitchen that stayed true to original charm and character of the home, with the homeowner s vision of a modern farmhouse. Our ultimate goal was to create a space that was welcoming and functional. This family entertains often and wanted a space that nurtured family activities and encouraged lasting memories. The Solution We closed off two corner windows, which allowed us to create ample counter space and storage for a baking center. Next, by reconfiguring some HVAC ductwork in an existing pantry, we created an area for a speed oven, secondary convection oven and full-height storage cabinet. A farmhouse sink centered on a new window location provides more of a view and adds much-needed natural light. A small bar area serves as a favorite location to sit over a quick meal with siblings.
