2 WORKING WITH ORNAMENTAL PLANTS, WORKING WITH THE WORLD Thanks to a special combination of fertile soil and a unique microclimate, Pistoia, together with its territory, is exceptionally well-suited to the cultivation of ornamental plants, unmistakable for their size, robustness and harmony. It currently contributes 25% to the gross agricultural product in Tuscany and holds 5% of the European nursery industry, making the district of Pistoia one of the most important production areas on the planet. Vannucci Piante spreads over 220 hectares of open ground cultivation, with 200 hectares of plants in containers, 50 hectares of plants under cover, and a 3,000 sqm showroom. Vannucci Piante exports its species to over 50 countries worldwide. 65% in Europe, 35% in the rest of the world. This allows for easy and rapid delivery of plants to destination, even in large quantities, and always in strict compliance with the work schedule and budget. The plants we cultivate are cared for by our technical team that is responsible for quality ìand the daily activities are coordinated by a highly specialised staff. We are fascinated by innovation, but its implementation requires rigorous research and expertise. When we create unusual, original shapes, we endeavour to follow along the lines of nature s formidable imagination. Vannucci Piante s professional team with consolidated expertise and the highest environmental certifications, constantly controls and cares for the state of the plants, helping them to grow in health and harmony, so that they can also adapt to very different climates. Vannucci Piante has recently opened the Pistoia Nursery Park, a very unusual and spectacular park-showroom. Cultivated, transplanted and pruned over the course of dozens of years, and shaped by time, the examples present in the park are nonetheless ready to be shipped and take root in far-off places with different climates, and thus have an immediate impact on the landscape.
