Extension Concept of IfcRoad Extension Standards (2/2) Space/Physical Facilities/Elements : Only for Civil Facilities (Linear Alignment/ Topography Space, Civil Facilities/Elements) Pavement/ Subsidiary Facility : Define as Common Elements of Facilities within IFC schema to be extended for Road Structures (Civil Facilities) (Elements that All Facilities include commonly) Components/Parts/Materials (Resource Layer) : Addition to Common and Architectural Class in Current IFC4 Drainage Facility : Required Review If Distribution Entities for Architecture can be Shared with Drainages for Civil or not (Extension of Drainage for Architecture?) Road Pavement consists of Subbase, Base, Intermediate (Binder/Leveling) and surface course Road Pavement is Represented with a Road Layer Set with Multiple Layer in IFC (IfcProfileLayerSet) Asphalt Pavement Surface and Intermediate Course Road Planning Level Base Course Subbase Course Anti-Freezing Layer (Filter Course) Pavement Surface Course Intermediate Course Base Course Subbase Course Subgrade Subgrade Concrete Pavement Body of road Freezing Depth Anti-Freezing Layer Concrete Slab Subbase Course (or Lean Concrete Layer) Subgrade Red : Pavement Layer Blue : Earthwork Layer Original Ground Height (Foundation Ground)

Approaches for IfcRoad Extension in the perspective of Civil based on IFC4 Road Alignment : Referred Alignment Model for Civil Structures with Bridge and Tunnel ü Sept : Suggestion by Prof. Andre Bormann at TUM, Germany, with Some by Bentley ü Current TUM s Alignment Draft is being referred as a New IfcAlignment Project in Infrastructure room for a year. ü Besides, Some are presented by Prof. Hyunjoo Kim in UNCC (The University of North Carolina at Charlotte), USA and Japan ü We consider the TUM s alignment model for our IfcRoad.
