3 lowercase productions (lcp) is a San Francisco-based design and communications firm specializing in branding, marketing, communications, information design and environmental signage related to the architecture and engineering industries. Our take on graphic communications is the result of Founder and Principal, David Schellinger s training and professional practice in architecture and planning firms around the country, where the success of his projects rested on his keen ability to verbally and visually communicate the basic ideas behind the plans or buildings. Our wayfinding plans and environmental signage projects range from public to private, from big to small, and from local to international. To date we have worked on wayfinding plans and signage systems for private schools and public universities, parking garages and multi-modal transit facilities, public open spaces and pedestrian streetscape plans, as well as hospitals and airports. All of our designs are first and foremost about communicating messages (especially when it comes to signage) for our projects only truly succeed when the message in understood.

As our buildings and built environment become more and more complex over time, signage and wayfinding becomes more important. Marrying our foundation in architecture and city planning, with our breadth of experience with information design, we can help you analyze how people can (or already do) move through your buildings and campuses. 8 DONOR SIGNAGE As budgets get tighter and financing more scarce, many turn to naming rights and other private forms of contributions to help get their buildings started. Recognizing these important contributors, takes more than slapping up a few names on a piece of plexi (although we can do that if it s really necessary). Our donor signage systems are developed to be part of the overall architectural experience, and flexible enough to grow over time so the signs are not outdated as soon as they are installed.
