Vice Mayor Low: Evan Low attended De Anza Community college and received his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. He also attended San Jose State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science then graduated from the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. On May 11, 2012 the Government Finance Officers Association notified the City of Campbell that its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, which is the highest form of recognition in government accounting and financial reporting. The City of Campbell is considering adopting ordinances restricting the distribution of single-use carryout bags and will be working with neighboring West Valley cities over the next few months to support the use of reusable bags. General Plan Themes of : Maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable and healthy environment. A physically connected and involved community with a strong sense of identity. Attractive residential neighborhoods and business districts. Friendly, small-town atmosphere. Fiscally self-reliant City government with effective basic municipal services. Campbell has spent time developing numerous libraries and extending the hours available to the public to further education. (The Campbell General Plan was adopted in 2002 and the housing element was updated in 2009.)

Sinks City Manager: Amy Chan Population: 58,302 (2010 Census) Education: 74.7% hold a bachelor's degree or higher ( ACS) Median Household Income: $120,201 ( ACS) of Mayor Santoro: Mark Santoro holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Mark held design positions at several companies in the Bay Area, including Apple, before starting his own company in January Vice Mayor Mahoney: Orrin Mahoney holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, a Masters in Industrial Administration program from Carnegie-Mellon University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. At a May 15, 2012 council meeting, it was established that a retail building north of the retail shop 8 building must be provided. Additionally, a parking garage entrance and exit were added along the South side of the parking garage from the Stevens Creek Boulevard driveway entrance nearest Tantuau Avenue. Apple proposes to create Apple Campus 2, an integrated 21 st century campus surrounded by green space. The company submitted revised plans for the Apple 2 Campus project to the City of Cupertino in June David Brandt was recently selected as the new City Manager of Cupertino. His position will take effect as of September 10, The City of Cupertino has a keen focus on being environmentally friendly and pursues policies that support this focus. Neighborhoods: Neighborhoods must be safe and attractive and full-service with convenient access to parks, schools, trails, bicycle paths and nearby shopping facilities. Health and Safety: Safety measures include conventional police, fire, paramedic and health services; disaster planning, safe buildings and site design with eyes and ears oriented to the public streets, neighborhood watch programs, protection from natural hazards including earthquakes and landslides and an ample supply of safe, well-designed parks, open space, trails and pathways. City Sustainability: For the past ten years, the City of Cupertino has been implementing environmentally sound policies and practices. There is a focus in water conservation and recycling. The City of Cupertino adopted its General Plan on November 15, 2005.

3 TOWN OF LOS GATOS Mayor: Vice Mayor: City Council: City Manager: Steve Rice Barbara Spector Steve Leonardis Diane McNutt Joe Pirzynski Greg Larson Population: 29,413 (2010 Census) Education: 64.6% hold a bachelor's degree or higher ( ACS) Median Household Income: $120,971 ( ACS) Mayor Rice: Steve Rice attended San Jose State University where he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Vice Mayor Spector: Barbara Spector holds a BA in English from UC Berkeley, Secondary and Community College Teaching Credentials from San Jose State University, an MA in Political Science from San Jose State University and a JD magna cum luade from University of Santa Clara School of Law. The Town is currently evaluating the condition of streets and sidewalks in the Almond Grove to formulate strategies to rebuild and replace this infrastructure in the near future. This is a neighborhood that is in significant need of rehabilitation of its streets and sidewalks. A comprehensive community input process for the development of the New Creekside Sports Park at 930 University Avenue has recently concluded. The process included a series of community meetings where attendees were given the opportunity to design their own sports park using templates of recreational elements created by landscape architects. Town Council Strategic Goals for : There are six categories that are focused on with a number of policies that will help support the area they are listed under. Community Character: Implement the 2020 General Plan actions identified for the first two years. Develop sustainability plan for implementation with regional and other partners. Develop and implement work plan to achieve affordable housing strategy. Facilitate development process and specific plan for the North 40. Update the Los Gatos Boulevard Plan.

4 Improving Governance: Increase communication with the community. Increase availability of online services to meet customer needs 24/7. Pursue technology solutions to enhance productivity. Update organizational performance and customer service measures. Develop and implement plan for appropriate land use ownership and utilization of parcels behind LGHS. Fiscal Stability: Ensure ongoing fiscal stability through benefit cost containment, organizational redesign, alternative service delivery and new reserve policies. Review and revise Town policy related to the service of alcohol and entertainment. Explore ways to maximize availability and usage of downtown parking resources to meet the needs of customers. Update and implement economic vitality strategy to facilitate business retention, expansion and attraction, including major tax generators. Sell/lease idle assets to create one-time or ongoing funding. Quality Public Infrastructure: Evaluate approaches and implement project to improve condition of streets in the Almond Grove district. Identify and pursue ongoing capital funding from local, state and federal sources. Develop and begin implementation of plan for the re-use of vacated Library space. Develop Complete Streets Program that plans for a balanced, multimodal transportation network. Civic Enrichment: Complete construction and opening of new library providing new and expanded library services. Develop master plan and construct new sports/recreation facility to meet community needs. Implement Pageant Park improvements to enhance public access. Implement the new Arts Master Plan to promote arts in the Town. Enhance efforts to encourage community members to participate in civic leadership. Public Safety: Expand the Los Gatos Prepared campaign to maximize community self-sufficiency. In conjunction with County Fire, implement evacuation plans for areas subject to flooding and fires. Review and update the contract with Monte Sereno for police services to reflect needs and resources. Develop baseline metrics of traffic patterns and maintain ongoing monitoring to inform strategies to improve traffic safety and reduce volume. (The Los Gatos Town Council certified the EIR and adopted the 2020 General Plan on September 20, 2010.)

5 CITY OF MONTE SERENO Mayor: Susan Garner (Term Ends 11/2012) Vice Mayor: Curtis Rogers (Term Ends 11/2014) City Council: Marhsall Anstandig (Term Ends 11/2014) Burton Craig (Term Ends 11/2014) Lana Malloy (Term Ends 11/2012) City Manager: Brian Loventhal Population: 3,341 (2010 Census) Education: 71.3% hold a bachelor's degree or higher ( ACS) Median Household Income: $166,724 ( ACS) Mayor Garner: Susan Garner is a California licensed Professional Geologist and Certified Engineering Geologist, and was the chief Executive Officer of the Equologic Group. She has personally led the investigation and cleanup of hundreds of contaminated sites. Vice Mayor Rogers: Curtis Rogers holds a BA in Journalism and an MS in marketing from the University of Wisconsin. He was one of the founders of a website called Career Taxi that merged and became part of Monster.com and he is currently the president of an advertising/marketing agency called CKR Interactive. The Nomination Period for the November 2012 Monte Sereno City Council race opened July 16, The Nomination Period is the time frame during which a potential candidate can obtain and file the necessary documents to enter the City Council race. The Santa Clara County Vector Control District has announced the beginning of its expanded seasonal efforts to monitor mosquito breeding sources and West Nile virus activity. A concern is the Asian Tiger Mosquito, which is black with white stripes, and the District requests that they are contacted if these mosquitos are seen. The City of Monte Sereno promotes development that is harmoniously integrated into the natural environment. This requires development to be designed to protect natural resources, preserve open spaces and natural topography. Additionally, encouraging residential uses to merge naturally with surrounding land uses through the gradual change of densities and the preservation of natural topography is important. The City also incorporates polices that provide for orderly growth consistent with the City s existing character. This includes continuing to review and comment on all development proposals located within the City s Sphere of Influence and to consider the cumulative affects of individual development projects

6 throughout the planning process. Another goal is to provide needed housing in Monte Sereno in a way that preserves the low-density and semirural character of the community. This includes the following: ensuring that new residential development is compatible with the existing neighborhood character, requiring that residential development is well-integrated into the natural environment and physical landscape of the site and requiring that new residential development preserves value scenic qualities such as hills, ridgelines and views and mitigates adverse visual impacts to the extent possible. Maintaining and improving the existing housing stock in Monte Sereno is also an important policy. This includes supporting the efforts of property owners to maintain and improve homes in Monte Sereno as well as enforcing City regulations requiring adequate maintenance and upkeep of residential properties. The construction of additional housing to meet the identified housing needs for all income groups in Monte Sereno is essential. Encouraging the construction of new second units through incentives, regulatory relief and increased public outreach is key. Removing constraints to the production and availability of housing will also help achieve this goal. The annexation of land adjacent to Monte Sereno is being considered if it is needed to increase the supply of affordable housing as well. (The updated General Plan was adopted January 2009 and will be used till 2025.)

7 CITY OF SARATOGA Mayor: Chuck Page (Term Ends 11/2014) Vice Mayor: Jill Hunter (Term Ends 11/2014) City Council: Emily Lo (Term Ends 11/2014) Howard Miller (Term Ends 11/2012) Manny Cappello (Term Ends 11/2012) City Manager: Dave Anderson Population: 29,926 (2010 Census) Education: 76.8% hold a bachelor's degree or higher ( ACS) Median Household Income: $145,023 ( ACS) Mayor Page: Chuck Page holds a BS in Mathematics and a BS in Business Administration from Fairfield University. He has over thirty years of business experience. Vice Mayor Hunter: Jill Hunter holds a BA from Newton College of the Sacred Heart. She is the Chair and Founder of Village Gardeners. The City of Saratoga through its contractor Armland Corp. will be installing new street light poles with LED street light fixtures along Big Basin Way in the Village. The new LED fixtures use 50% less energy than the existing ones. Construction began May 20 th, Starting with May 26, 2012, Saratoga Gateway Businesses will host a monthly Saratoga Gateway Community Foodie Fun on The Run event at Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road from 4:00-8:00 pm. The City of Saratoga is focusing on renovations to the City. General goals include: Preserving and enhancing the small-scale pedestrian character of the Village to make the area more inviting to potential shoppers and diners. Preserving and enhancing the architectural and landscape character of the area. Improving parking and circulation. Encouraging a traditional town center mix of specialty shops, restaurants, convenience shops, services and residences. Conserving historic structures. The General Plan was last updated on November 17, 2010 (Circulation and Scenic Highway Element).
