We have sought out prime locations in a variety of town centres, villages and semirural locations that have the potential to become prestigious and sustainable developments with good local amenities and communication links. Wherever we build, we engage with local communities, communicating and consulting during the planning phases and encouraging ongoing interaction in determining our investments in community projects and infrastructure. 7 Customer Driven Customers are the heart of our business We believe in treating our customers the way we d like to be treated ourselves. It s not just what we say, but what we actually do that proves our commitment. It s about believing that everything we do, no matter how small, can make a positive difference to the experience we give our customers - whether it s in our approach to design, planning, construction or customer service. And we re continuously striving to improve our levels of service across the whole business. We are constantly evolving the design of our homes, using the most up to date building methods and materials and the latest advances in energy efficiency and lifestyle technology. Our Customer Charter ensures that we explain fully all aspects of the purchase procedure, our guarantees, assurances and health and safety aspects, so that everyone receives a consistently high level of service across the whole business. We also undertake a rigorous quality checking procedure for each home before the homeowners move in. Upon completion, every customer is asked to give us feedback and tell us how we are doing. This forms part of a continuous independent survey to ensure our procedures are continually improving. The latest findings tell us that 97% of our homeowners are so pleased with their new homes that they would recommend a Linden home to their friends and family

8 Distinctive family homes in a peaceful and leafy oasis case study boxgrove gardens Guildford - Surrey Within walking distance of the centre of the lively Surrey market town of Guildford, this landmark scheme demonstrates the ethos and approach that personifies Linden Homes. A collection of distinctive three, four and five bedroom family homes, Boxgrove Gardens is a tranquil haven in the heart of Guildford. The development is set around a newly landscaped communal park as its focal point, which includes the conversion of Uplands House, a former country manor, into stylish two bedroom apartments. The homes reflect accents of the local area, with pitched roofs, wrought iron railings to the first floor balconies and a mix of brick and render finishes. These characteristics are combined with modern design features including external timber framing and full height first floor windows that makes the best use of natural light.

We build homes that conform to the latest Government standards of energy efficiency, and where possible, go even further to integrate renewable energy products like solar panels, ground source heat pumps and rainwater harvesters. We stipulate that all of our timber comes from renewable sources and encourage the use of environmentally friendly materials, as well as using locally sourced materials and skills. We also try to incorporate features such as angled glazed areas that allow natural light and heat into the home, and the installation of heat recovery systems to help make our homes cheaper to run. We also work with Government and the industry to define standards on reducing landfill and waste. Our design approach incorporates green travel routes and encourages cycling. Currently we are responsible for the UK s largest carbon neutral development. Working with other companies in the Galliford Try Group, we have broken new ground in providing entire renewable energy solutions on-site by including wind turbines and energy centres. These are examples of how we are constantly striving to make sure our homes provide a positive legacy for the future

Every effort has been made to ensure that the whole development enhances the natural beauty of the surrounding area. This is sustainable development with substance. Environmental sustainability is embedded in the heart of the development. Grayingwell Park has a carbon neutral footprint. We have achieved a 100% reduction in CO 2 emissions. This has been achieved by the use of environmentally friendly building materials, along with renewable energy solutions and a focus being placed upon energy efficiency. The development has a brand new energy centre that provides all heating and hot water. The individual homes have Photovoltaic roof panels to reduce energy consumption and there s a sustainable drainage system. In addition, a green travel plan has been adopted to promote more environmentally friendly modes of transport.
