Introduction - overview of committee, brief history New Business: 2. Introduction to Urban Arts The successful candidate for the contract to carry out the first phase of the project is Urban Arts [see slide show, attached] - While not present at this meeting, we hope to have a public meet & greet soon - Urban Arts has several subcontractors working with them on different aspects of consultation and design, including experts on Sustainable Infrastructure, community engagement, etc. [see Team Organization Chart, attached]. - Questions asked regarding the composition of the firm, especially whether or not there are any First Nations/Metis/Inuit principles. In partial answer, it is explained that one of the reasons UA was the successful candidate is because of their history of working collaboratively with a number of First Nations on projects. 3. Overview of Community Consultation Process We are in Phase One. The consultants will be working with Britannia, Staff, Board and Committee members, City staff, and members of the public/centre users to carry out a broad consultation with the goal of creating a Master Plan for the new centre. This work is currently scheduled to be completed by December of There will be a separate bidding process for the contract for final architect, which Urban Arts may or may not apply for and may or may not be awarded. Old Business: 3. Previous Minutes accepted with minor revisions 4. Presentation & Discussion Land Use Principles The current draft is presented & discussed, point by point [see attachment]. Feedback is collected, especially with regards to points 4, 5, 7, 8. This feedback will be reviewed along with feedback from Britannia committees, and incorporated into a final draft to be approved by the Britannia Board of management at their December or January meeting (likely January).
