9 WPRP How We Got Where We Are Today Watershed Protection and Restoration Fee established in early 2013 Program bonds funded November, 2013 Only Open End Contracts for Procurement Initially Since beginning of 2014 the WPRP has put $253 million under contract County-wide The Watershed Assessments (WIPs) started in 2004 with the Severn River The last WIP is Currently Under Contract

11 CONTRACTS Where We Are Today 42 Stream Projects; 29 miles of restoration, our largest of which is Sawmill Creek with 23,000+ linear feet of restoration 130 BMPs being retrofit, treating 1,800 acres of impervious surface. 67 of these BMPs have or are being constructed. 73 Outfalls that will be converted to 5.5 miles of SPSC. Most will be constructed under the new TMDL Regional General Permit.

15 A WATERSHED APPROACH PMs Assigned by Watershed Assignments Based on Training & Location Erica Jackson Senior Project Manager She completed her undergraduate work at Morgan State University and graduated with a Master s Degree in Construction Management from the U of M College Park. Her primary background was in land development for private consulting firms prior to coming to the County. Erica started with us as a PM and was recently promoted to a Senior PM. Nasrin Dahlgren Patuxent River Watershed While earning her undergraduate degree in Environmental Analysis and Planning from Frostburg State University, she gained skills in stormwater management, laboratory techniques, wetland delineation and site analysis. She continued on to gain a Master s Degree in Geographic Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University After graduating she worked for private consulting firms before joining the County. Her home is in the Patuxent Watershed.
16 A WATERSHED APPROACH PMs Assigned by Watershed Assignments Based on Training & Location Diron Baker Patapsco River Watershed Diron left Maryland to complete his undergraduate work in civil engineering at Colorado School of Mines where he gained skills in stormwater management, laboratory techniques, and site analysis. He returned to his home state to work for a consulting firm before joining the County. His background in environmental remediation is well suited to his work in the Patapsco Watershed. James Woods Patapsco River Watershed James completed his undergraduate work at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and graduated with a Master s Degree in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to coming to work at the County his work experience was at a State environmental agency focusing on waste management and land restoration. James is a native Marylander living in the Baltimore region.
17 A WATERSHED APPROACH PMs Assigned by Watershed Assignments Based on Training & Location Kim Cluney Magothy River Watershed While earning her undergraduate degree in Mathematics. She has gained skills in stormwater management, construction, and site analysis while working for the WPRP. She obtained an Environmental Master s Degree while in our program. After graduating she was hired by the County to work with Dennis in the Magothy as a PM. Her home is in the Magothy Watershed. Gerald Inglesby Severn River Watershed He completed his undergraduate work in Environmental Management at UMUC. After graduating he worked for private consulting firms before joining the County in the Inspection and Permitting Department. We were lucky to talk him into coming to work for us. His home is in the Severn Watershed in Severna Park.
18 A WATERSHED APPROACH PMs Assigned by Watershed Assignments Based on Training & Location Karen Jennings South River Watershed Earned her undergraduate degree in Geoscience from Franklin and Marshall College. She continued on to gain a Master s Degree in Geology from the University of Vermont. She is a certified professional Geologist. After graduating she worked for State and Federal agencies, as well as private consulting firms before joining the County. Her home is in Annapolis. Current Openings (3) Senior PM, Construction Management PM, and Stream Restoration PM We have three vacancies we are actively looking to fill as soon as possible. Both PM positions are County Wide; one in Construction Management and the other for Stream Restoration. The Senior PM will fill a senior stream restoration technical lead position working for Jens Geratz.
