Operating characteristics Energy Class: HOTTIMA Electronic Platform ovens can be Class A or Class A ( 20) depending on their power consumption. Power consumption of Class A appliances is below 0.8 kw/h Power consumption of Class A ( 20) appliances is 20% less than that of Class A appliances. The ECO Function is utilized for the standardized energy consumption declaration. Important: These certifications are issued by IMQ. The power consumption tests cannot be reproduced in the laboratory or at the installation site because they require the use of specific components and measuring devices. 8

Technical characteristics A Energy Class: 1. Insulation 20 mm around the cavity and 38 mm at the back 2. Density 80 Kg/m3 around the cavity and 70 Kg/m3 at the back 3. The wool fibre is short 4. 12 Operating characteristics Stand-By (less than 1 Watt within 2012): Ovens equipped with the Main board belonging to the LUCE Platform switch to stand-by after 60 minutes if they are in programming/end mode and after 30 minutes if they are OFF. Ovens with LOW and MID interfaces show only the clock button brightly lit when in Stand-By, while HIGH interface types (single knob) display the message eco mode in low light mode. In all cases it is possible to quit Stand-By by pressing any button on the control panel. 11

When pyrolytic cleaning process is activated the oven door is located approximately 5 minutes from the start of the process and it is not completely unlocked until the temperature has dropped to below 150 C. As an additional safety, when the oven reaches 380 C a wax motor thermoactuator is powered by the Main board thereby activating a second lock. Said second safety functions on a different board with respect to the main board. At the end of the pyrolytic cleaning process the thermoactuator is disconnected electrically when the temperature of 350 C is reached. 12

The oven must not contain any baking trays or racks that could damage the chamber or impair the cleaning process by obstructing the internal airflow. 14

Operating characteristics Normal operating temperature: The normal operating temperature of the ovens is from 30 C to 250 C except for the Pizza and Grill function, wherein the temperature reaches 300 C and in Pyrolytic Cleaning mode, which reaches 460 C. Safety temperatures: The safety temperatures that cause a Fault to trip during normal operation of the appliance, are: 1. F04 If the NTC sensor on the Main board reaches 85 C during oven operation 2. F06: If the PTC sensor in the oven reaches 360 C during cooking 3. F06: If the PTC sensor in the oven reaches 550 C in pyrolytic mode. Important: If one of the three conditions described above should occur, a safety procedure is activated consisting in the disconnection of all loads except for the tangential fan, and a Fault will be displayed. The door will be locked whenever the oven interior reaches 325 C The door is unlocked if the temperature falls below 150 C. In both cases this is achieved by means of pulse signals to the door lock (not via the wax capsule thermostat, which trips at 380 C) The fault is cleared as soon as the temperature falls 30 C below the tripping value. 15

Operating characteristics In case of power loss: 1. With manual cooking in progress 2. With automatic cooling in progress 3. With pyrolytic cleaning in progress When a power loss occurs, if, when power is restored, the temperature delta between the last temperature read by the electronic controller and the reset temperature is lower than or equal to 5%, the cooking or pyrolytic cleaning process normally from the point at which it had been interrupted, if the temperature delta is higher than 5%, the cooking/pyrolytic cleaning process is interrupted. 16

Appliance external Air Flow: Tangential Fan External air flow: The air is drawn from the side and rear of the oven by the Tangential Fan and is forced through the openings in the ducting. The upper part (yellow arrow) serves to route the air taken from the flue. The air is forced out through the control panel and the oven door (this explains why it is important to leave a minimum gap of 4 mm between these components). The lower duct, which is wider, serves to force the air used to cool the exterior of the oven and the Main and Display boards. This air is forced downward between the oven door windows (see blue arrow) 17

Appliance internal Air Flow: Internal fan Internal air-flow: The air is taken from the front of the baffle and forced sideways to create a uniform temperature in the oven and to heat the bottom area of the oven chamber, where the oven floor heating element is not present. 18

Operating characteristics Min 4 mm Fitting the door (leave at least 4 mm): A critical point for correct operation of the appliance is to leave a gap of at least 4 mm between the oven door, which has a single fixing position (no height adjustment facility), and the control panel, which can be repositioned (by sliding it up and down by a few millimetres); therefore, for this dimension pay careful attention when removing and refitting the components in question. Failure to provide this minimum gap can result in the formation of condensation in the air exhausting cooking fumes from the oven chamber by means of the duct. 19

Components 20

Components Oven Lamp: In the HOTTIMA Electronic Platform there will be two different types of lighting for the oven interior: 1.The classic or halogen lamp inside the oven, as present in the Hot Platform On the top products in the range some models have two LED strips inserted between the oven door external and central window, one strip on each side. The LEDs are supplied by a 12 Volt (DC) supply obtained from a 230 Volt 50/60 Hz (AC) transformer. 21

Components Door Lock (if present): The main function of the Door Lock is to operate as a safety device for use during the Pyrolytic Cleaning procedure. The door is locked by mean of an initial electrical pulse transmitted by the board and unlocked by means of two pulses, this latter to obtain the certainty that the Door Lock is opened by the Main board and not by a possible voltage surge on the mains supply. 22

Components Door lock (where present): In certain models the user can press the Child Lock button to lock the door, and then unlock it by pressing the same button. Locking temperature and/or time: electronic at 5 minutes from the start of pyrolytic cleaning wax motor thermoactuator: 380 C Unlocking temperature: electronic: 150 C wax motor thermoactuator: 350 C 23

Components Manual opening of the Door Lock (where present): If for any reason, as for example a power loss during pyrolytic cleaning, the oven door remains locked, it can be opened by means of the following procedure: 1. Disconnect the power (unplug or throw the disconnect switch) 2. Insert slender screwdriver between oven door and Control Panel (see photo) 3. Press the specific door release button twice 4. Open the door. Important: This procedure is not given in the appliance Instruction Booklet. It is for use solely by SERVICE. 24

Components For the CALL CENTER: If during the appliance cleaning procedure the Door Lock is engaged mechanically, the oven door will remain unlocked (closed in position) when it is closed. Inform the CALL CENTER that the door can be unlocked acting on the latch and informing the user that the latch must be pulled towards the exterior of the appliance to release the component. Another method is to push the door inward to cause it to ride over the Door Lock latch. 25

Components PTC sensor: The function of the PTC sensor inside the oven is to read the temperature during the cooking and pyrolytic cleaning and, in this platform, it also has a safety function by deactivating normal operation of the appliance if a very high temperature is detected (see Safety Temperatures). As a safety back-up there is also a second circuit that is used to identify an electrical fault and respond by tripping the appliance safety system (disconnecting the heating elements and starting the fan at the maximum speed). Temperature Value in Ohms , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,094 26

Components Yes Yes Heating elements: As in HOT 2005 there are just 2 heating elements: Roof heating element (Grill) 2700 Watts Circular heating element 1600 Watts On the electromecanic ovens: Resistenza Tipo Potenza Tensione Cielo/grill 2250/556W 230/128V circolare 1600W 230 V suola 1200W 230 V 27

Components Internal fan: The internal fan is used to ensure even heat distribution in the oven chamber and to force air towards the bottom of the chamber by means of the baffle. The internal fan is power by approximately 230 Volts and driven by the Main board and it always runs at the same speed. 28

Components Baffle: During the production start-up stage the same Baffle will be used as that of the HOT 2005 Platform, so the operating characteristics remain unchanged. In the near future we will fit a new modified Baffle to improve the cooking performance of the oven. Remark.: The electromecanic products use HOT 2003 baffle 29

Components Chimney: As in the prior platform, the chimney is used to exhaust fumes produced inside the oven chamber during cooking. The chimney always contains the catalytic converter utilized to reduce the emission of fumes. 30

Components Ducting: The ducting is divided into two levels. The lower wider level is used for ventilation and it serves to reduce the high temperature on the exterior of the appliance when it is in operation. The hot air is forced outwards through the door glasses (for products with Pyrolytic cleaning, through the two innermost windows). The air is always routed to the base of the door. The upper and narrower duct level is used to force cooking fumes out of the oven chamber. The collected air and fumes are expelled through the 4 mm gap between door and control panel. 31

Components Ducting on electromecanic appliance: The ducting is divided into two levels. The lower wider level is used for ventilation and it serves to reduce the high temperature on the exterior of the appliance when it is in operation. The hot air is forced outwards through the door glasses. The air is always routed to the base of the door. The upper duct level is used to force cooking fumes out of the oven chamber. The collected air and fumes are expelled through the 4 mm gap between door and control panel. 32

Components Tangential fan: The external tangential cooling fan is driven by the Main board and functions at 3 speeds as described below: at approximately 230 Volts for speed 3 at approximately 180 Volts for speed 2 at approximately 150 Volts for speed 1 Remark: The tangential fan on electromecanic products works always at the constant velocity (about 1350 rpm) 33

Components Tangential Fan in END, PROGRAMMING, and OFF status: The tangential fan remains ON in the following conditions: If the oven internal temperature exceeds 325 C at speed 3. Once the temperature falls to 252 C the fan speed is reduced to stetting 2 until the temperature falls to 110 C at which the fan is disconnected If the temperature is above 130 C and equal to or lower than 325 C, the fan runs at speed 2 until reaching 110 C at which point it is switched off If the temperature does not exceed 130 C the fan does not switch on. 34

Components Display Circuit Board: All Display boards function by means of capacitive contact technology (none has the prior PIEZO technology). When a button is touched this closes a virtual capacitor and said condition generates an interference signal that is read by the Display board microprocessor as a user request and the relative command associated with the button is activated. 35

Components Main Circuit Board (HOTTIMA Platform): The LUCE 2010 Platform Main Board was developed to meet the specific needs of this product and in accordance with the new operating and safety regulations relative to the product. In addition, the board retains the safety characteristics associated with products from the HOT 2005 Platform such as, for example, door locking in the case of malfunctions and specific Fault display if the temperature sensor on the board detects a temperature of 85 C, etc. 36

Components Main Circuit Board (HOTTIMA Platform): Important: All safety Clixon temperature on the product have been removed and inserted as a safety feature on the Main Board by means of the internal PTC Sensor. The Clixon, as safety components, are present on electromecanic products: 1. To manage the tangential fan (Normally open. Close at 62 C +/-1,5 C. Open at 50 C) 2. To manage the internal temperature (Normally closed. Open at 220 C +/-10 C. Close at 200 C +/- 10 C) 37

Components Fixing of the Main Circuit Board: The Main board is fixed in the same position as on the previous platform, but in this case it is attached directly to the air duct utilized for oven cooling. A hole is provided on the board (see photo) for fixing purposes in the event of breakage of the original fixing clips on the duct. Refer to fixing screw technical data in ServiceNet!!! 38

Using the palmtop/ffa (via MemWriter), for Italy and West- Europe 2. Using a PC for the UK 3. Using the Smart Reader with the Smart Card for the rest of the world Whichever method is used, refer to documentation on the relative technology (SQG_WM_25). 42

Assembly and Disassembly 43

Assembly and Disassembly Removal of the Control Panel: 1. Disconnect the communication cable between the Display board and Main board 2. Remove the 4 screws fixing the control panel Important: when refitting the panel remember to leave a minimum gap of 4 mm between the front panel and the Oven Door 44
