13 VAC-MAT TM 11 Wtte VAC-MAT TM Applcaton What s VAC-MAT TM? It s a thn soft polymer mat wth many spaced out vacuum ponts, suckers n dfferent szes wth a fne hole n each centre and a rased lp. On the undersde there are sx lugs whch locate n the specal VAC-MAT TM chuck. On the mat under surface there are grd shaped grooves whch dstrbute the vacuum to each of the small holes. A lp rght around the outsde edge ensures no leakage. The lugs underneath the mat guarantee fast and accurate postonng of the VAC-MAT TM on the specal modular vacuum chuck What sze s VAC-MAT TM? All VAC-MAT TM s are 2,5 x 200 x 300 mm. The tolerance les at +/- 0,04mm and concave upto 0,1mm. To ncrease the sze of the workng area, the modular VAC-MAT TM chucks are connected to one another and VAC-MAT TM s are smply placed on as descrbed. Is VAC-MAT TM reusable? The workng lfe of a VAC-MAT TM depends on the number and sze of cuts made nto the mat durng machnng. Operatng temperature for VAC-MAT TM Vac-Mat TM, avalable n RED, BLUE and GREEN versons can be used at 40 C wthout any lmtatons The modular concept allows connecton of several vacuum chucks. Then draw round the contour usng an ordnary pen Applcaton Smply follow steps 1-5 and a custom bult fxture s ready n seconds. When vacuum s swtched on mat and workpece are sucked down together. The excellent frcton values offer especally good resstance to dsplacement forces durng machnng. Usng the slot chuck wth the rubber adapter mat allows drllng of holes and mllng or cuttng of pockets and cutouts nto the mat to a depth of 1,5mm wthout losng vacuum. As the mat suffers hardly any wear and tear t can be used often for workpeces wth the same contour. Certan applcatons allow the tool to work to depths of 1,5mm nto the mat. Heght tolerance of the mats les n a range of +/- 0,3mm (DIN 7715, part Kl. P2)
