3 2.8.6 Planting Strategy Planting Strategy The planting strategy for Layfield Place has been developed based on both the riparian and pastoral themes of the Brent Riverside Park and the productive uses of the wider site in the 20th century. A selection of grasses and herbaceous plants will be used with the raised planters to provide a seasonally attractive backdrop to the seating areas. A colour theme of predominantly yellows and oranges has been used to complement the adjacent buildings. A productive wall is to be provided to the southern elevation of the West MSCP. 7 2.8.7 Surface Materials & Street Furniture Strategies Surface Materials Strategy The paving materials for Layfield Place have been selected to provide a high quality finish in natural stone that complements the natural stone materials approved under Phase 1AN for the Living Bridge, while also reflecting the warmer tones of the buildings which front onto this key space. A selection of granite slabs and setts in 3 tones are proposed which will be used to create a subtle ripple effect through the space, helping to define seating areas and to focus movement towards the main entrances, while referencing the river themes and reinforcing the proximity of the space to the Brent Riverside Park.
