GENERAL FEATURES There are three basic shapes MCX06, MCX08 y MCX15, according to the number of inputs and outputs, and two screen types: LED and LCD. Optionally, we can connect a remote interface (MMIGRS2) with LCD screen in any MCX controller. MCX06C MCX08M MCX15B MMIGRS2 The general features of the controller in Chillers and Water Air Heat Pumps are: Regulation by temperature of the water inlet (or outlet). Proportional regulation, Proportional Integral or by dead band. Time schedule. Network connection (master-slave) Defrost control. Re-counting of operating hours for the maintenance of compressors and water pumps if the unit has this optional. Visualization of the return temperature and all inputs and outputs status. Compressors start up timing. Anti-freeze protection. Safety protection for High Pressure. Safety protection for Low Pressure. Protection of the compressors. Protection of the exterior fans. Protection by differential water pressure switch (Optional). Remote ON/OFF. Electronic expansion valve control (according to the models) Alarm management. MCX controllers have an integrated screen or optionally be blind with the remote user interface module (MMI). 4

MCX INTERFACE DESCRIPTION START SCREEN It is different as may be LED or LCD screen and it is configurable. It will show OFF if the machine is stopped, and it will show the temperature and the symbol of the elements that are functioning when the machine is running. The displays A and B are configurable, they show the temperature and the setpoint by default. LED Screen (MCX06C) LED screen with two digit groups and 18 icons. Digits color: Green. Alarm/Warning icons color: Red. Rest of the icons color: Amber. The measures displayed at A and B displays are selectable by dsa and dsb parameters. Selectable values are: OFF: No values. IdOF: Status of the ON/OFF digital input. SEt: Active setpoint (In display B by default) reg: Analog input used for temperature regulation (In display A by default) AI1: Analog input 1 AI8: Analog input 8 5

MCX INTERFACE DESCRIPTION START SCREEN LCD Screen (MCX08M, MCX15B, MMIGRS2) Main screen. Display resolution 128x64 pixel. Configuration of the measures displayed: dsa and dsb is the same as the explained in the LED screen. The LCD screen of the remote option has larger resolution and the advantage of being able to access to it outside the machine. 6

MCX INTERFACE DESCRIPTION START SCREEN KEYBOARD (UP) Inside the same level it allows you to move to a field of a top position. 8 MCX INTERFACE DESCRIPTION ACCESS LEVEL (LOG) Menu: LOG Login To insert the 4 digit password defining the access level to menus and parameters. The current access level is then shown on the second raw of the main menu screen. There are 4 access levels to the different parameters or levels of configuration of the unit. L0 Level: Direct access for the user and without password. L1 Level: Access through password for the Installer or the maintainer of the unit. L2, L3 Level: Exclusive access for the Technical Service of HITECSA. Password for the access levels from 1 to 3 are defined with L01, L02 y L03 parameters, group1 "GEN - General", group2 "PAS - Password", only parameters of the active and lower level are visible. Without logging in, you get access level 0. You can t see parameters of menu entries belonging to a higher level than yours. UNIT START-UP It can be done as it follows: Pressing the UP key during 3 seconds it will alternate ON OFF Menu Navigation: Press ENTER to access to main menu. You enter the menu Str - Start where you find the following options. - ON Turned On. The unit stats operating in the previous selected mode. - OFF Turned Off. (Check parameter list) By the remote Start/Stop digital entrance (check the electrical diagram of the unit) Example: This may be the following sequence in the LED screen (MCX06): START: Start ENTER DOWN ENTER UP ENTER STOP: ENTER DOWN ENTER UP ENTER 8

MCX INTERFACE DESCRIPTION CHANGE SETPOINT TEMPERATURE Default values can change depending on the unit. Select Parameters (Par) Regulation (reg) Setpoint (Set) in the main menu. MCX06 ENTER DOWN ENTER DOWN ENTER DOWN ENTER Enter to Setpoint menu SC1 Setpoint temperature in cooling mode The setpoint value is stablished in Celsius degrees for the functioning of the unit in cooling mode. Default is 12 C. It can vary from 8 C (SCL) to 22 C (SCH). SH1 Setpoint Temperature in heating mode The setpoint value is stablished in Celsius degrees for the functioning of the unit in heating mode. Default is 40 C. It can vary from 35 C (SHL) to 50 C (SHH). The values of the limits between which the setpoints can be adjusted are changed by entering level 1. OPERATING MODE SELECTION The current operating mode of the heat pumps is shown on the initial screen of the MCX controller. You have the following options to change it: Press DOWN key during 3s. This option can be enabled or disabled through the re2 parameter (Menu PAR Parameters, rev Reversing valve, CFR Configuration ). By the Start menu (Menu, Str Start, HC Heatt/Cool ) By the y03 parameter (Menu, PAR- Parameters, group1 GEN General, group2 StU Setup ). (See parameter list) By the digital entry of remote Heat/Cool (see electrical diagram of the unit).
