Second Revision 601 has no related First Revision, therefore, there will be no supplemental ballot. The attached report contains Committee Comment No. 601 and the SRs created by Panel 3 with final ballot counts and voting comments. To pass ballot, each revision requires: (1) a simple majority of those eligible to vote and (2) an affirmative vote of 2 /3 of ballots returned. For temporary wiring installations, receptacles, other than those covered by 590.6(A)(1) through (A)(3) used to supply temporary power to equipment used by personnel during construction, remodeling, maintenance, repair, or demolition of buildings, structures, or equipment, or similar activities, shall have protection in accordance with (B)(1), (B)(2), or the assured equipment grounding conductor program in accordance with (B)(2) (3). (1) GFCI Protection. Ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel. (2) SPGFCI Protection. Special purpose ground-fault circuit-interrupter protection for personnel. (3) Assured Equipment Grounding Conductor Program. A written assured equipment grounding conductor program continuously enforced at the site by one or more designated persons to ensure that equipment grounding conductors for all cord sets, receptacles that are not a part of the permanent wiring of the building or structure, and equipment connected by cord and plug are installed and maintained in accordance with the applicable requirements of , , 406.4(C), and 590.4(D). (a) The following tests shall be performed on all cord sets, receptacles that are not part of the permanent wiring of the building or structure, and cord-and-plug-connected equipment required to be connected to an equipment grounding conductor: (1) All equipment grounding conductors shall be tested for continuity and shall be electrically continuous. (2) Each receptacle and attachment plug shall be tested for correct attachment of the equipment grounding conductor. The equipment grounding conductor shall be connected to its proper terminal. This can be readily seenin all types of occupancies, with underfloor heat tapes and cable mats covered by ceramic tile or floor coverings, but they are protected by a GFCI as required in Art Carpet tiles are limited in size to 1 square meter to ensure ready access for future inspection for installations of FCC cables under floor carpet tiles. FCC cables have been exposed to all kinds of abuse not contemplated in their approvals. Additionally, building owners began to cover these cable installations with full carpeting and even padding when the carpet tiles were damaged, lost or just didn't meet the owners design scheme anymore. This same scenario is now possible for all floor coverings installed over CMUC cables. Further study and evaluation is warranted for this type of installation, with all of the supporting documentation provided to the panel for evaluation and consideration.
