Certain segments of construction are still sluggish but a few are downright robust. We really hope it continues! 2 Page 2 of 6 M&M Lumber Market Report: Market Update: Gypsum: Not much change in the Gypsum market. There is speculation of a slight price erosion in late April or early May. Roofing: All the major roofing companies have taken a price increase. Tamko will implement theirs May 1. The increase ranges from 7-10%. With recent storms, lead times have been extended. Felt has also taken a slight price increase as of April 2. Rebar: Due to the price for scrap steel being stable in March, domestic rebar manufacturers announced there would be no change in pricing for April rollings. There are several thousand metric tons of imported rebar "on the water" headed to East and Gulf coast ports, which will arrive in late March and early April. Because scrap steel prices have not moved higher recently and due to the high amount of imported rebar that will be available in April, most industry analyst expect rebar prices in the US to remain steady through May. From the Wood Pile: As part of our efforts to keep you informed of the agency's activities, we wanted to let you know that OSHA has revised its Hazard Communication Standard, aligning it with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). The revisions include: 1) revised criteria for classification of chemical hazards; 2) revised labeling provisions that include requirements for use of standardized signal words, pictograms, hazard statements, and precautionary statements; 3) a specified format for safety data sheets; and 4) related revisions to definitions of terms used in the standard, and requirements for employee training on labels and safety data sheets. OSHA is also modifying provisions of other standards, including standards for flammable and combustible liquids, process safety management, and most substance-specific health standards, to ensure consistency with the modified Hazard Communication Standard requirements. For more information, please see: Final rule: OSHA's Hazard Communication Safety and Health Topics Page: Lumber: Lumber prices increased in February and March, as demand was higher than expected due to the mild winter, and due to mills cutting back on production as they normally do in the winter months. Most major lumber mills have increased production. It will probably be 30 days before supply "catches up" to demand, so lumber prices are expected to hold steady for most of April. Plywood: The plywood and OSB markets have remained firm to steady. Mill have be able to stay ahead a week of their order Feedback Are there items that you need that we don't stock? Click here -Insulation companies (Johns Manville, Owens corning, and CertainTeed) have all implemented a price increase as of March 31 or April 1 ranging from 12-17%. -Atrium has announced a 4% price increase on vinyl products and 5% price increase on aluminum products effective on all orders received April 23, Southwest Moulding has announced a 5.6% price increase effective April 16. It is suspected that an additional price increase is likely in another 45 days. -Visqueen/Polyfilm has taken a slight price increase in the last 30 days. They have raised prices about 4-6% due to their increased costs for resins and as polyethylene resin. -FastenMaster has implemented a price increase of 4% beginning April 2 for all FastenMaster and Tiger Claw products. These include the timber mate screws, gutter screws and hidden fasteners for decks. -Fluidmaster, plumbing repair parts has announced a 5% price increase effective April 1. The demo

4 Page 4 of 6 van will show AdvanTech flooring and their Zip System. The van will be here from 11-1:30. Simpson and Primesource will also have a rep here with various products and knowledge of the new Oklahoma building codes that went into effect at the end of last year. Pass along the information to your framers so they are aware of this learning opportunity...and lunch too! Tracy Tyler Hopefully by now you've had a chance to meet Tracy Tyler. Tracy is quickly learning the computer, SKUs, product location, and customers. He will definitely be an asset on the front counter when it comes to painting knowledge! New Items: -Once we sell out of the 9' x 100' Tyvek, we will change over to a 9' x 150' Tyvek house wrap. -Have you tried the new Sqwincher Freezer Pops at the front of the store? There are various flavors to choose from; grape, cherry, wild berry, lemon lime, and orange to buy individually frozen, or you can buy a mixed 10 pack either frozen or unfrozen. These should be a hit when the weather gets warmer.

5 Page 5 of 6 -We now have a source for 1/4" 4x8 Marine Plywood. The current market price is $51.79 a sheet. With the new Oklahoma Building code, 1/2" x 8" anchor bolts no longer meets code. We have dropped the 1/2" x 8" anchor bolt and will just be stocking the 1/2" x 10" and 1/2" x 12". If you need any 8" anchor bolts, we still have sources to buy them, but they have to be bought in full boxes of 50. The company "Lite Steel Beam' who made steel I-joists has gone out of business. As of yet, we do not have another source for any exterior steel beams. We are now able to sell Hardie shingle side by the piece rather than the pallet or the square. The Hardie 16"x4' Straight Shingle side takes 43 pieces to a square. The Hardie 16"x4' Staggered Shingle side takes 50 pieces to a square.
