1 Klickitat County Recycling Program Curbside Recycling is a free service available to residential dwellings with four or fewer families. You do NOT need to have garbage service to participate in Curbside Recycling and signing up is easy. 6 Glass is not accepted curbside but you can take your glass food and beverage containers to one of our glass recycling drop sites: Goldendale Transfer Station Dallesport Transfer Station BZ Corners Transfer Station Bingen Point Recycling Drop Site Roosevelt Regional Landfill Holidays may shift the recycling and garbage pickup schedules. Look at the calendar included in this newsletter, find your route and look for dates that have * next to the date or yellow highlighting. This means that date falls on or after a holiday. If you see this on the schedule your pickup day will fall one day later than your normal schedule. For example: if the holiday falls on Thursday, Thursday s routes will be picked up on Friday and Friday s routes will be picked up on Saturday. 7 CHANGES TO THE ACCEPTED MATERIALS LIST #1 Plastics numbered 3,4,5,6, and 7 will no longer be accepted. All plastic in your blue bag should have a or 1 2 #2 Plastic bags and other plastic film will no longer be accepted. #3 Shredded paper will no longer be accepted even when bagged seperately. These changes are necessary to insure all of the materials collected for recycling in Klickitat County stay out of the landfills and in the recycling process. As we make these changes, recycling pickup drivers will be paying close attention to bags with non-recyclable materials and tagging these bags as necessary.

8 Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) HHW is accepted at the transfer stations in Goldendale, Dallesport, BZ Corners, and at the Roosevelt Landfill. There is no change for residential hazardous waste disposal. Please leave labels on containers or correctly label unmarked containers to keep everyone safe. Identifying HHW is easy. Look for these key words on the label: Danger Warning Caution Some containers have a description of the hazards on the label containing one or more of the following: Flammable Combustible Poison Caustic Irritant If a material lists one or more of these words on the label, please dispose of it as hazardous waste. If you are unsure call the Solid Waste office at (509) Used Oil Recycling Used motor, transmission, and gear oil can be disposed of in five (5) gallon or smaller containers with leak proof lids. Goldendale Transfer Station accepts used oil on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month. BZ Corners Transfer Station will began collecting oil December Call Republic Services or the Solid Waste office for the schedule.
