2 GENERAL Due to several alternatives of unit sizes, capacities and materials the HKP air heaters are especially suitable for heating of industrial premises. TRANSPORT AND STORAGE The units are transported in individual packages (crate). When the air heaters are stored upon each other, please note the light package construction (max 3 packages on top of each other!). Please do not store the units in humid outdoor spaces! PLACING When installing the HKP air heaters please ensure that there is nothing to prevent the airflow in front of the units. The air heaters are equipped with swinging air deflectors to guarantee an optimal airflow direction. Max. allowed working pressure is 6 bar. 1

3 INSTALLATION BRACKET (AK) FANS AND MOTORS The air heaters are equipped with axial fan units, enclosure class IP 44, 3-phase, 2-speed fan motors. The lower rotation speed can be achieved by changing the connection from delta to star. The fans are equipped with internal thermal protectors (TW or TK, to be wired), which can be connected to control the fan s contactor. The fans suitable for 3/230 V 50 Hz can also be used for 3/400 V 50 Hz, but only with Y- connection (higher rpm). Use of D-connection causes immediate motor burning. The rotation speed can be regulated by changing the voltage (at 50 Hz). 2

For heat transfer section the method of hard solder (FOSCO 710/DIN8513/LAg2P) has been used. Please, check the suitability of the electric network! Please, check the electric installations! 4

6 GENERAL Trouble-free operation of the air heaters requires regular maintenance. WARNING: Before starting the service operations make sure that the circuit is reliably switched off! During maintenance please check: Visual condition of the units Fixing of the units and the fans Fan operation Cleanness of the heat transfer section HEAT TRANSFER SECTION The heat transfer section needs regular service if the air heaters are run in dirty conditions or if the operating conditions require special cleanness. The heat transfer section can be cleaned either by vacuum cleaner or by washing (do not use any strong alkaline detergents or acids!). FANS Should the fan make any unusual noise (rasping, rattling), please stop it immediately and try to find out the reason for this. If necessary, replace the fan motor by a new one. HOW TO REPLACE A DAMAGED ELECTRIC COMPONENT Note! An authorized electrician only can change an electric component! WARNING: Before replacing the electric component make sure that the circuit is reliably switched off! Changing the fan motor Open the junction box cover Remove the wires of the damaged component Install the new component Connect the wires of the new component Check the earthing Close the junction box cover Perform the test-run 5
