Underfloor heating operates at an energy efficient C compared to 80 C for radiators. 11 11 A solution for every home Underfloor Heating is not just a product for new build homes. With Joule s extensive range of underfloor heating solutions there is a system for your project. Whether you are renovating a part of your house, adding a kitchen or building from scratch there is a type of underfloor heating system that will work for you. You can lay your underfloor heating within a solid floor In circumstances where you need to insulate in between joists sometimes it is easier and the quickest to use pregrooved insulation boards cut to fit between your joists. This board both holds the pipe in place and provides the insulation that is required.

12 12 JOULE UNDERFLOOR Rapid Rail and Clip Underfloor Heating System 16mm ø This is the most common system installed in new build properties where the floor is being laid is a screed. The installer simply covers the insulation boards with polyurethane sheets, removes the sticky cover on the back of the rapid rails and then lays them out parallel to one of the walls keeping one meter between each row. They then lay the pipe down on to the surface clipping it to the rails as it passes over the rails in a configuration detailed in the installation instructions provided. This system is quick and easy to install. It works best where insulation thickness is not sufficient to allow clips to penetrate relying on the rail only to hold the pipe down. The rail gives ready measured spacings. 13 13 Clip Only Underfloor Heating System 16mm ø This is identical to the rapid rail and clip system only it does not use the rapid rails. This means that you must work our the spacings manually. Normally to use this method a staple gun is a good idea as there will be a high volume of staples to fix to keep all the pipe secure to the insulation. 14 14 JOULE UNDERFLOOR Aluminium Spreader Plate System 35 or 50mm 16mm ø The aluminium spreader plate system is an ideal solution for a suspended timber floor both upstairs or downstairs. The spreader plates fix to the joists and have pre formed channels built in to take the pipe and also help radiate the heat from the pipe to the space above it. The finished floor can be laid directly over the spreader plates. 15 15 Grooved Insulation Board Over Joists 35 or 50mm 16mm ø This is an ideal solution where you have the available floor to ceiling height to have a 50mm floor build up. It provides the best thermal insulation to prevent heat transferring downwards. 16 16 JOULE UNDERFLOOR Joule Multilayer Aluminium Pert/Al/Pert Pipe The Joule pert/al/pert multilayer aluminium barriered pipe is manufactured using a 5 layer technology. It has an aluminium middle layer that protects the pipe from accidental damage during installation and prolongs it s use over the life span of the system. The pipe comes in coils ranging from 50 meters to 500 meters. 18 18 JOULE UNDERFLOOR Joule Touchscreen Digital Underfloor Heating Controls This stat requires a 3-core cable between the wiring centre and each stat location The newly launched Joule Touchscreen Thermal Stat is a state-of-the-art solution to use in every underfloor heating system. You can use the top and bottom buttons on the lefthand side of the stat to change the room temperature up and down. The top right button is where you program in your time periods and the bottom right button is where you turn it off. Wiring Diagram The Joule stat is deisgned to be flush mounted so it must be fitted to a single gang back box which will be installed during first fix. 19 19 Joule Dial Type Thermostat with Set Back Function This stat requires a 3-core cable between the wiring centre and each stat location The Joule dial-type Thermostat is our simplistic and easy to use offering for underfloor heating.
