Please put plastic bottles in a bag separately from plastic containers and packaging. Place the bags separately at the garbage collection sites. 6 Non-burnable Less than 40cm in size, Non-burnable garbage Empty the contents and soak them in water Wrap them in newspaper with the word " きけん (hazard)" written on it Metals and products containing metals Empty the contents Lighters, toys containing metals, pots, metal cans, paint cans, etc. Small electrical appliances Dispose cylindrical batteries as hazardous garbage Remove dirt from them Glass products Light bulbs, mirrors, glass tablewares, glass cups, etc. Ceramics Wrap broken products with sharp edges in papers or bags with the word " われもの (Broken)" written on it Return used cell phones to the stores Return these items to the stores with this symbol Hazardous Three types specified below Same collection schedule as non-burnable garbage Cylindrical batteries Return button batteries and chargeable batteries to the stores Fluorescent light tubes Including fluorescent bulbs Mercury thermometers Dispose electronic thermometers as non-burnable garbage Return fluorescent light tubes and mercury thermometers into their original containers when disposing them to avoid breakage. Wrap broken products with sharp edges in papers or bags with the word " われもの (Broken)" written on it. -5 -
7 Glass Bottles and Jars Sort them according to their colors and place them into color-coded collection containers without putting them into bags Drink glass bottles Glass bottles or jars of food, seasonings, cooking oil Glass bottles or jars of medicine Glass bottles or jars of cosmetics Remove lids Empty the contents and rinse the inside of bottles Do not need to remove labels or pourers, if unable to do so Any item that is not specified above must be disposed of as non-burnable garbage. Place them into collection containers without putting them into bags. Dispose broken products as non-burnable garbage. Cans Drink cans Food cans Cans of seaweed, tea, food, etc. Spray cans, gas cylinders Cans of insecticide and hair styling products, etc. Empty the contents and rinse the inside of cans As for spray cans and gas cylinders, make sure to empty them completely There is no need to pierce holes Any item that is not specified above must be disposed of as non-burnable garbage [] Paint cans, metal cans, pots, lids (metal) -6 -
8 Large-sized 40cm or more in size, burnable and non-burnable garbage Furniture No need to disassemble Electrical Appliances Remove heating oil from heaters Bicycles Put a tag with the word ふようひん (unwanted) Futons, blankets, carpets Tie these items up with rope Hobby and sporting goods Storage boxes, golf clubs, skis, etc. Tree branches Cut tree branches (up to 15cm in diameter) into 1m lengths and bundle them together Dispose cardboard boxes, fluorescent light tubes, plastic products with symbol as their specified garbage types, even if their size is 40cm or more. The city council does not collect TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, driers, air conditioners and computers (Please refer to page 9 and 10). Papers and Cloths If it rains, take it out on the next collection day Papers-Tie them together Cloths-Place them into plastic bags Used papers (Sort them into three groups and tie them together) Newspapers Including circulars Cloths () Magazines Books, cartons, wrapping papers, paper boxes, etc. Cardboard boxes Remove foam polystyrene attached to cardboard boxes and dispose it as plastic containers and packaging Clothes We recycle them as second-hand clothes Towels, sheets, curtains, etc. Dispose non-recyclable papers and cloths as burnable garbage (Please refer to page 2) Please support group collection in your area! Please support group collection organized by your local community association -7 -
9 Irregular [Charges apply, bookings essential] If you have large quantities of garbage (e.g. from moving house or from gardening), you can arrange for a garbage pickup service. 10,000 per 2t vehicle Please move items for collection to an area that is easily accessible by a 2t vehicle. For booking: Department of Environment Phone: Collection Support [Registration required] ( pickup service for seniors and the disabled) The city council provides a garbage pickup service to seniors and disabled people who are unable to take their garbage to a collection site by themselves. This service is available only to people who satisfy all the following conditions: 1People who live alone; 2People who are unable to take their garbage to a garbage collection site by themselves and who cannot get support from neighbors or family; 3Persons aged 65 years or older and who have nursing care insurance level 2 or higher, or people who have a Class 1 or 2 physical disability certificate; This service also applies to households with residents who only satisfy condition 3 above Application to register Please contact the Department of Environment to make an application. The department will review your application and determine your eligibility. Applications can be made in person, or if you cannot attend yourself, a family member or carer can make the application for you with your consent to be collected must still be properly sorted needs to be placed outside of the house at a suitable location facing the road. collectors will not enter the house (Collection will be made in the afternoon) Department of Environment Phone: Kawanishi City Silver Human Resource Center provides a service for carrying garbage from inside to outside of the house (charges apply). Kawanishi City Silver Human Resource Center Phone: Deceased Domestic Pets (dogs, cats, etc.) [Charges apply, bookings essential] Please place them in an appropriate size coffin (e.g., cardboard boxes, etc). Please contact the city council to make a booking in the morning, between day and day. You cannot dispose business garbage in residential garbage collection sites. Recycling fees have already been included in the sales price.
