From the moment your luggage is taken from you and you walk along the track through a small meadow to Villa Lale you realise you are somewhere special. Set amongst orchards the this villa offers the perfect getaway location. Close to the heart of the hamlet and mosque you are nonetheless in a completely private and tranquil location. It has been designed and built by the same team that built our Turkish retreat, Villa Nurtan, sourcing craftsmen from the village. Using local labour and materials we have aimed to create a villa that is sympathetic to its surroundings. This extends to our furniture, which is mostly hand-made in the village. Villa Lale is located in Keçibükü, Orhaniye, an idyllic valley location surrounded by olive trees and hills. It is only 25 km away from bustling Marmaris, yet offers a peaceful retreat for discerning families looking for a private and very special place to unwind, well away from developments. Owning a holiday rental ourselves we are particularly aware of how well (or not!) things are done when we stay elsewhere. You have designed/ set up the villa impeccably Villa Lale guests enjoy the luxuries of a private pool whilst being part of a rural Turkish hamlet. In the garden is a stone BBQ for outside meals and around the side of the villa is a swinging chair that is great for a quiet read. Eco-friendly pool Our guests like being part of the community. There are the sounds of village life. If you are used to the rumble of cars and street life, you will instead get used to the call to prayer just before dawn and at intervals through the day from the village mosque. At night time you may hear cockerels, dogs, the snuffle of a wild boar, the occasional gun shot as the men hunt at night or the music of a wedding celebration. At other times there is utter quiet except for the sounds of frogs in the spring whilst the streams are running and the cicadas in high summer. You can watch the natural world at your leisure the bats and stars at night, birds swooping to drink at the pool, dragonflies over the water or the birds of prey overhead. Enjoy swimming in the pool at night with the pool lights on, enchanted by the magnificent night time sky. Sustainable 6 Caroline and family VILLA LALE BROCHURE We have invested in the latest 100% ecological cleaning system in the private pool plus installing a water softening system which means that we use NO chemicals in this pool. Our guests love this pool as they do not smell of chlorine and it does not pollute the environment. We believe in low impact tourism. The Bozburun Peninsula is a protected nature area so we go to great lengths to minimise our impact on the environment. We have drilled two wells and installed automatic drip watering systems in the gardens to minimise the amount of water we take from the village.

Pool side Veranda There is a traditional wooden Turkish veranda set by the pool. This is ideal for supervising children in the pool. Orange Trees Villa Lale is set amongst Orange groves so you will find many Orange trees in the garden. Stone BBQ Enjoy alfresco dining with delicious meals prepared on the large stone BBQ. Plants and bushes The garden is full of mature plants and bushes caredully tendered by our team. Evening Relaxation Turn the pool lights on and enjoy relaxing by the pool with your favourite drink. We had the most relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of Turkey. Frank and family What is it like to stay in a Turkish village? You will notice that everyone is friendly and will greet you with Merhaba (Hello). The Kecibuku hamlet has a population of around 350, so you can be sure that everyone will know who you are or will work out where you are staying very quickly. As a stranger you are a guest in the community, so you may be given a gesture of welcome perhaps an orange or a fig from a tree as you walk by. Restaurants Villa Lale nestles in the midst of orange groves. Close to the heart of the hamlet access is via a track away from any road. Yet you will hear and see village life the call to prayer from the nearby mosque, women (usually ) working in the nearby fields, chickens, cows and goats in the surrounding orchards. This is a place for those who want to experience rural village life, without sacrificing luxury. Shops Villa Lale is within a twenty minute stroll of the local restaurants, many have private beach access to the bay. Call them from the villa phone for free lifts both ways. 10 Getting to the Bozburun Peninsula Nearest airport to Villa Lale is Dalaman (DLM) Our private transfers take about one hour 40 mins WONDERFUL LOCAL BAYS Swim in crystal-clear water in the bays Orhaniye is located on the Bozburun peninsula which is protected by government laws against the excesses of mass tourism. It is at the point where the Mediterranean sea meets the Aegean sea so it has a wonderful climate all year around, similar to that found in California, with hot summers and mild winters. Within a few kilometres you get up in the hills to the pretty village of Bayir with its stunning views or travel down the peninsula to Bozburun which lives off boat building and yacht servicing. Orhaniye may only be 25 Km from Marmaris but it could be easily be the other side of the world. Villa Lale is 1 hour 40 minutes drive away from Dalaman Airport (DLM) which is the closest airport to enter Turkey. Now there are many charter flights all the year round from most UK and European airports to Dalaman. 4 hour flight. Airport Transfers Car Hire Boat Trips We can arrange private transfers from Dalaman airport using a transfer company based in the village. Transfers take about one hour and 40 mins. Bodrum airport is also possible and takes 30 min more. We can arrange private car hire for you with the same local company. They can provide rental cars picked up at the airport or deliver a rental car to the villa for use when you arrive. They also provide cars by the day, delivered to the villa. Private boat trips are very popular with our guests as they can go to quiet bays and swim in the crystal-clear waters. We can arrange these trips on request. Unspoilt Village Orhaniye is completely unspoilt and full of friendly villagers who will welcome you to Villa Lale. Protected Environment The Bozburun Peninsula is classed as a nature area by the Turkish Government so pretected against over development. No high rise development is permitted. Local Beaches There are many restaurants with beach access to the local bay. For snorkelling there are several small bays within a short distance by car from the villa. Famous Kızkumu Kızkumu in Orhaniye bay is so beautiful that the Government has applied to have the area classed as a World Heritage Site.
