In our latest release you will find out more about all of our exciting new models each and every one of which is handmade and hand painted in Britain and captures the nostalgia and charm of our architectural heritage as only Lilliput Lane can. 2 From Scotland to Hampshire, there is something for everyone. Our Wee Cottage is a delightfully quaint building from the popular Lakeland village of Hawkshead and, with its true Lilliputian proportions, it certainly lives up to its name! If you venture Down in the Woods Today you might see our replica of a church lychgate in Hartfield, East Sussex, which is the village where A A Milne wrote his famous Winnie the Pooh stories hence the name! Another new introduction not to be missed is our delightful Woodturner s Cottage, a beautiful New Forest cottage covered in climbers and featuring a freshly painted rocking horse. We have an array of exceptional snowed cottages and churches for you to choose from. 3 From Concept to Cottage 1. Each and every Lilliput Lane miniature is completely hand crafted by our skilled artists in Langholm, in the borders of Scotland. 2. The cottages are based on real buildings and many collectors enjoy touring the country lanes in search of the actual houses. 3. From photographs, the internet and sketches, up to forty different processes then follow to produce a complex series of moulds from the original sculpture. There is no room for error, as the original wax sculpture is lost during the the process! 4. Every tile, slate and flower is individually applied by hand to build up the different textures and details. 5. Flexible silicone-rubber moulds are used to cast faithful replicas of the wax original in a specially licensed material called Amorphite. Once this has set, the moulds can then be carefully peeled away to reveal every last detail on the cast model. 6. After being sealed and dried once again, the model passes to one of our painters Up to thirty different colourways can be tried and checked for authenticity before a master version is chosen for each cottage. 8. Every skilled painter has to match each of the models they paint to the master version, to ensure that each is consistent. 9. Finally, cottages are baized and labelled, before a final quality check ensures that they leave Lilliput Lane in perfect condition. No seconds are ever kept; if they do not pass our strict quality checks, then they are destroyed.

6 The British Collection, England L3700 BROADWAY TOWER WORCESTERSHIRE, MIDLANDS Height: 9.0cm Length: 6.0cm This enigmatic folly, with unparalleled views overlooking sixteen counties, was built in the late 1700s for George William, Sixth Earl of Coventry, by the eminent eighteenth-century landscape designer, Capability Brown, and the distinguished architect, James Wyatt. L3725 HARROGATE PUMP ROOM (UNSNOWED) YORKSHIRE, NORTH EAST & YORKSHIRE Height: 6.5cm Length: 6.5cm Now available in an unsnowed version. Built to provide shelter for the thousands of people who came to Harrogate to take the medicinal waters, this ornate octagonal building was designed by Isaac Shutt for the newly-formed Improvement Commissioners and was completed in It is now a museum. 6 L3699 WEE COTTAGE CUMBRIA, NORTH WEST Height: 7.0cm Length: 4.0cm Of true Lilliputian proportions, this quaint little dwelling certainly lives up to its name! Situated on Hawkshead s Vicarage Lane, it was built in the eighteenth century and its whitewashed walls have been hung with local slate tiles typical weather protection in this area. L3701 TRINKET BOX LANCASHIRE, NORTH WEST Height: 7.0cm Length: 6.0cm Built in 1638, number 33 Market Place, Preston, was originally a house, but today, it is a jeweller s shop. It s known locally as the oldest shop in Preston and is certainly one of the most attractive. L3705 ROMNEY MARSH CHURCH KENT, SOUTH EAST Height: 7.0cm Length: 6.0cm Fairfield s Church of St Thomas à Becket looks almost isolated atop its manmade hill keeping the waters of the surrounding marsh at bay. There s not a churchyard, or a fence to keep the grazing sheep from invading its sanctuary. L3709 DOWN IN THE WOODS TODAY EAST SUSSEX, SOUTH EAST Height: 8.0cm Length: 7.0cm Situated in Hartfield, East Sussex, the title we have chosen for our lovely Down in the Woods Today cottage and church lychgate comes from the song Teddy Bears Picnic, and is due to the village s association with Winnie the Pooh. L3708 VICTORIAN CHARM CORNWALL, SOUTH WEST Height: 8.0cm Length: 7.0cm Our charming Victorian Charm has been inspired by Joseph s Cottage, a Grade-II-Listed former gardener s cottage in the grounds of Lanhydrock House a National Trust-owned Jacobean house with landscaped Victorian-style gardens which attract over 200,000 visitors each year. 7 L3711 LUCKY SWEEP CHESHIRE, NORTH WEST Height: 8.0cm Length: 7.0cm Dating from the late seventeenth century, this Grade-II-Listed cottage in Peckforton, was once the village smithy and is one of several houses, all with similar features, that form part of the Tollemache Estate. This would make a perfect good luck gift. L3712 SWEET CHARITY SUFFOLK, EAST ANGLIA Height: 7.0cm Length: 7.0cm Our pretty cottage with beautiful, well-stocked garden has been inspired by a former charity house in lketshall St Margaret once belonging to Cambridge University, during which time it was used to house widows of the clergy hence the name! 8 L3703 LAKELAND VIEW CUMBRIA, NORTH WEST Height: 8.0cm Length: 8.0cm Our Lakeland View has been inspired by the Kirkstone Pass Inn, which, standing at just under 1,500 feet at the summit of the famous Kirkstone Pass, is the highest occupied building in Cumbria and the third highest inn in England. L3713 CHERISHED MOMENTS SHROPSHIRE, MIDLANDS Height: 8.0cm Length: 9.0cm Our delightful model features a newly-wed couple posing for photographs amongst the flowers, capturing their very-own cherished moments at Little Stretton s pretty timber-framed Church of All Saints. It would make an ideal wedding gift to cherish forever.
