1 The main focus of the ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Systems Maintenance Personnel Course is to provide individuals, who are responsible for the proper inspection, testing, and maintenance of medical gas systems, with the requirements necessary to maintain, inspect, and test medical gas systems in Category 1, 2, & 3 health care facilities. The 2012 and 2015 editions of NFPA 99 are used to provide all code and regulatory requirements discussed within this course. Other applicable codes and standards and diagrams, pictures, and details are used to supplement the information that is presented. Attendees will also be given a basic understanding of the application, operation, and regulatory requirements of all materials, components, and equipment that are used in medical gas and vacuum systems.
