1 Installation Instructions odel CABBATT/R Box INTRDUCTIN The odel CABBATT/R Box from, is used to house BTX2 (55AH) batteries for XL Systems; BTX2 (55AH) batteries and BTX3 (00AH) batteries for FireFinderXLS/Desigo Fire Safety odular/cerberus PR odular Systems; and 00AH battery sets for the FS250 and FS250C Systems. The CAB BATT is black and the CABBATTR is red. The CABBATTR will be referred to in the remainder of this document as the CABBATT. The CABBATT consists of a door and a backbox, as shown in Figure. The door is permanently hinged left. The battery box can be placed on the floor directly underneath the fire panel enclosure to which it supplies battery backup or it can be mounted on a flat surface with four usersupplied bolts that are a maximum of 3 /8 inch in diameter. When used for Seismic applications, the battery box must be placed on the floor and mounted to the wall as described on page 2. 2 Install the battery box:. Select a clean, dry, shock and vibration free surface in a protected environment. 2. Position the battery box directly beneath the fire panel enclosure to which it will be wired. (Knockouts in the battery box may be needed to line up with the knockouts in the fire panel enclosure.) 3. Position the battery box so that it is clear of obstructions and the front door opens freely. 4. ark the locations of the two upper mounting bolts of the battery box (marked A ) on the wall. Drill the two holes located in the previous step and screw in the top bolts, leaving a small gap between the wall and each top bolt. 6. Place the battery box over the two top bolts and allow it to slide down over the bolts. 7. ark, drill, and install the two bottom bolts in the battery box (marked B ). 8. Tighten all four bolts securely against the back wall of the battery box. 9. Place the batteries in the bottom of the CABBATT. Seismic Applications For Seismic applications the CABBATT must be placed on the floor and mounted to the wall using bolts that are 3 /8 inch in diameter.. For installations using 55 AH batteries, mark, drill, and install the two bottom bolts in the battery box marked B, as shown in Figure 2. 2 P/N

3 For installations using 00 AH batteries, mark, drill, and install the bottom bolt in the backbox marked D, as shown in Figure Tighten all bolts securely against the back wall of the battery box. 0. Place the batteries in the bottom of the CABBATT.. To complete the installation for Seismic applications, refer to the CAB55 BRKT and CAB00 BRKT Installation Instructions, P/N WIRING The main AC power line must be turned FF prior to installation. Install Wiring Wire in accordance with local codes and NEC 760. Connections. Remove the knockouts in the top of the battery box and bottom of the fire panel enclosure for entry of battery wiring. 2. Connect the Wire Assembly to the batteries in the CABBATT. If a longer wire is required, use a minimum of 2 AWG. For FireFinderXLS/Desigo Fire Safety odular/cerberus PR odular, use P/N , supplied with the PSC2 (Refer to Figure 4 and the PSC2 Installation Instructions, P/ N ) For FS250 or FS250C use the Cable Assembly supplied with the FS250 / FS250C hardware kit (Refer to Figure 5). For XL, use P/N supplied with the B3 (Refer to Figure 6). When BTX, BTX2 or BTX3 batteries are required, connect them to the system with the Cable Conversion Kit, P/N , following the steps listed below.. Using the 2 in. long wire assembly, connect the two batteries together, as shown in Figure 3. Secure each end of the assembly to the battery with a 032 x 3/4 screw and lock nut. 2. Attach the quick disconnects to the positive and negative battery terminals with the 032 x 3/4 screws and lock nuts supplied. 3. Attach the red battery wire to the quick disconnect on the positive terminal and the black battery wire to the quick disconnect on the negative terminal.
