10 Maintenance Control Plan MCP
11 Adoption of ASME A /CSA B44-13 MCP History Historically there has always been maintenance required on elevators although requirements were minimal by code. Over the last 10 years those maintenance requirement have become formalized with each new code addition and code harmonization. The ASME A /CSA B44-13 has now harmonized the maintenance requirements in section 8.6 section. The Canadian is eliminated. 11
12 Evolution of the Maintenance Control Plan Canada Older Codes Cited Section 12 Section 12 in older codes was very basic Canada ASME A /CSA B44-00 Canadian Only Harmonization of both ASME A17.1 and CSA B33 had been completed except for maintenance Canada ASME A /CSA B44-07 Canadian Only Harmonization of 8.6 and was being developed Canada/USA ASME A /CSA B44-10 Section 8.6 MCP only Section was deleted because the and 8.6 were harmonized under 8.6 Canada/USA ASME A /CSA B44-13 Section 8.6 MCP only USA Older US Codes maintenance requirement were very basic USA ASME A /CSA B44-00 USA Only 8.6 Harmonization of both ASME A17.1 and CSA B33 had been completed except for maintenance USA ASME A /CSA B44-07 USA MCP Only 8.6 Harmonization of 8.6 and was being developed General Note: Prior to and throughout the evolution of the MCP the adopted regulations took precedence over the codes that were being adopted and some cases significantly changes the code requirements. 12
