1 Dear Friends of Chief River Nursery, In the Midwest, we experience four seasons in all their glory. This presents a spectacular cyclical display which is a thrill whether spring, summer, autumn or winter. As the seasons pass, we recall the growth that we ve experienced throughout the years. We are grateful to our customers who plant each year, and to those who plant less frequently, choosing to return to us for their planting projects. Whether you set out to plant several stunning trees and shrubs in your home landscape, or you are developing plans for a food plot to attract game birds and deer, we are pleased to offer a wide variety of choices. Additionally, we are able to provide larger quantities which may be required by forestry and government agencies, as well as restoration projects. We are pleased to announce Chief River Nursery has purchased the exclusive manufacturing rights to Plant Saver Deer & Rabbit Repellent. Plant Saver is the new name for the same great product previously known as Super Repeller. We will continue to manufacture Plant Saver in the USA, using organic ingredients sourced in the U.S. If you d like to sell this product in your store, we offer wholesale pricing for qualifying businesses. This year, we have an expanded choice of Evergreen Plugs with the Red Pine, White Pine, Norway Spruce and White Spruce available in two sizes. We ve added the ever popular Fraser Fir plugs as another front-runner. Canaan Fir is a new selection offered in bare root conifers. Our sister company, PottedTrees.com continues to offer small potted trees and shrubs, including evergreen, flowering and fruiting varieties. We hope you ll visit our website at Whether you need 2 trees, or 20,000, Chief River Nursery is positioned well to serve you. We sincerely appreciate your loyalty and thank you for your continued business. Your planting friends, Dean and Sheila Koch NOW SELLING Evergreen Plugs! Our evergreen plugs are the same trees planted by large paper companies and government forestry agencies. The roots of the #1 trees are surrounded by a plug of soil 1.1" diameter and nearly 4" deep. The #2 trees have a larger plug and are more substantial in overall size, including stem diameter and root system. Typically, plugs experience less transplant shock and improved survival rates. *SOLD ONLY BY THE FULL BOX* RED PINE #1 PLUG SAMPLE SKU # HEIGHT QTY/BOX 1 BOX 2 BOXES 3+ BOXES RED PINE #1 P1-CRP 4-8+" 400 $336 (.84 ea) $316/box (.79 ea) $276/box (.69 ea) WHITE PINE #1 P1-CWP 4-8+" 400 $336 (.84 ea) $316/box (.79 ea) $276/box (.69 ea) NORWAY SPRUCE #1 P1-CNS 4-8+" 500 $420 (.84 ea) $395/box (.79 ea) $345/box (.69 ea) WHITE SPRUCE #1 P1-CWS 4-8+" 500 $420 (.84 ea) $395/box (.79 ea) $345/box (.69 ea) FRASER FIR #1 P1-CFF 4-8+" 360 $342 (.95 ea) $324/box (.90 ea) $306/box (.85 ea) RED PINE #2 P2-CRP 4-10+" 300 $291 (.97 ea) $279/box (.93 ea) $267/box (.89 ea) WHITE PINE #2 P2-CWP 4-10+" 300 $291 (.97 ea) $279/box (.93 ea) $267/box (.89 ea) NORWAY SPRUCE #2 P2-CNS 6-14+" 300 $297 (.99 ea) $285/box (.95 ea) $273/box (.91 ea) WHITE SPRUCE #2 P2-CWS 6-14+" 300 $297 (.99 ea) $285/box (.95 ea) $273/box (.91 ea) PLUG PLANTING AUGER: This small but heavy-duty auger can be used with any standard drill. Our Limited Guarantee: We guarantee you will receive viable nursery stock which will successfully break dormancy by June 30th of the planting year. For complete details of our limited guarantee, visit Please note the following time sensitive deadlines, as no exceptions will be made: Incorrect or damaged nursery stock must be reported within 24 hours of receipt Trees or shrubs that do not break dormancy must be reported by June 30th of the planting year to be considered under the terms of our limited guarantee Use our TREE & SHRUB FINDER online to help narrow down your choices, by zone, soil type, light requirements & more! Plant Hardiness Zones Average Annual Extreme Minimum Temperature in (F ) Plant hardiness zones were established to help us plant the right plants in the right climates. Planting outside of the recommended zone exposes the plant to a much higher chance of failure. Please keep in mind that planting your seedling in the correct zone does not ensure its survival. Other important factors such as follow up care, soil type, moisture, drainage, and exposure to the sun and wind will have a direct effect on the survival of your trees and shrubs. 14
