3 A FAMILY HISTORY Mrs. Santa s son, Felice Turco, leaves for Germany, the heartland of porcelain at that time. In 1989 he leaves for Macao, to learn all the secrets of the market Felice Sais and his wife, Giuseppina Ciliento, start working as homeware merchant retailers. Year after year, until the 70s, the activity expands to the entire Mezzogiorno and the Islands. THE ORIGINS One of Sais s daughter, Santa, moves to Tivoli, a strategic area near Rome. She buys a small building which becomes both a shop and wholesale outlet. ARRIVAL IN TIVOLI FELICE TURCO S TRAVELS THE NEW H.Q. Sais S.r.l. s headquarters is established in Ponte Lucano a few steps away from Tivoli. VILLA D ESTE HOME VDH is born as a brand specialized in dinnerware&home décor. GALILEO S.P.A. From the separation from Sais S.r.l., newly born Galileo S.p.A. incorporates the brands: Galileo Casa, Villa D Este Home Tivoli, Kooper TH VDH ANNIVERSARY The 20th Anniversary of VDH marks 20 years of success and love for design.
