2 POLICY POLICY The Shield canopy image design, graphics, and rules must conform to Shield standards and be produced by a Phillips 66-approved supplier. A canopy structural survey and demo of any existing fascia layers are strongly recommended prior to re-imaging. The canopy is made of ACM (aluminum composite material), which is the best choice in appearance and value for retrofit and new builds At least 3 sides of the canopy will have the 3-D illuminated treatment. Two illuminated canopy logos are recommended per site with no more than three canopy logos per site. Only one logo is allowed per side of canopy. Canopy under lighting must be LED The canopy under-decking must have a highgloss white finish. Canopy must have either a 36 or 48 flat fascia that extends over the fuel dispensers in the main fueling area. All canopies must have squared-off corners. Rounded corners are not allowed. No signs, banners, or decals are allowed on the canopy fascia, except for the fuel logo(s) and clearance decal(s). If local regulation or architectural requirements prohibits the standard Shield image, an image exception for the Muted Image or architectural canopy may be requested. Refer to the Muted Image section for further details. 2 of 11

3 FASCIA SYSTEM Two-color ACM (red/gunmetal gray) Logo 3-Dimensional LED illuminated Rail Systerm LED illuminated Rivets FASCIA SYSTEM A combination of the ACM, rail system, and Phillips 66 logo results in a 3-dimensional canopy system for the new image. The canopy fascia is a two-color ACM with a Gunmetal gray stripe down the center featuring red above and below. A silver metallic rail system is mounted directly to the two-color ACM. LED backlighting highlights portions of the fascia. A line of internally lit, rounded metal rivets with opaque plastic washers to allow for their illumination at night along the center of the fascia. An oversized Phillips 66 logo is mounted to the rail system and breaks the top plane of the canopy. The logo will be placed either left or rightjustified based on angle most visible to the consumer. The 3-dimensional canopy system will be featured on 3 sides of the canopy. The c-store facing side of the canopy will have a canopy treatment featuring the two-color ACM but with silver metallic vinyl stripes to simulate the rail system. Depending on distance from the c-store this side of the canopy may be required to have additional LED illumination such as area lighting. 3 of 11

4 Phillips 66 Shield FASCIA FASCIA The following are the acceptable Shield fascia treatment options (see key diagram): A Fascia Side: Based on proximity of the canopy to the c-store, the following treatment will be followed: <30 ft.: Two-color ACM with vinyl silver stripes >30 ft.: Two-color ACM with vinyl silver stripes and LED area lighting (or asymmetrical VHO fixture) for safety as these fixtures light the dark zone which can occur between the c-store and the canopy B Fascia Side: 3-dimensional illuminated treatment C Fascia Side : 3-dimensional illuminated treatment D Fascia Side: 3-dimensional illuminated treatment T-shaped canopies should have 3 sides with 3D illuminated treatment and other sides may use 2 color ACM with silver stripes unless a logo is present. The centerline of the logo, regardless of size, is always placed 6 from the corner of the canopy Two illuminated canopy logos are recommended per site with no more than three canopy logos per site. 7 MUTED FASCIA Logo show encased? Gunmetal Gray ACM MUTED FASCIA The muted canopy image was designed to provide a neutral color option where the Shield fascia image is not accepted. The incorporation of a muted image canopy must have an approved image exception. Provide documentation of the city s rejection along with photos of the canopy to be re imaged. The muted image is Gunmetal Gray and it is preferred that said Gunmetal gray be ACM be must be pre-fabricated ACM fascia from approved suppliers However it is possible that ACM will not be allowed and the city will require a stucco finish or something similar, in that case we would paint the stucco Gunmetal gray if possible. If the local jurisdiction will not allow Gunmetal Gray, a look that incorporates the shopping center If the Shield Image canopy column design is prohibited, request an additional image exception for the columns and provide the appropriate documentation. All other Phillips 66 Shield Fuel Island image requirements must be adhered to. 7 of 11

8 UNDER LIGHTING Flush mountedunder canopy LED lighting LED LIGHTING LED flush-mounted, under canopy lighting is required for Shield Image If a site currently has LED under canopy lighting no upgrade is required LED lighting must provide illumination of the fueling area. Side A lighting (c-store side of canopy): This additional lighting should provide illumination of the light to the area between the canopy and the c-store. If this is accomplished by existing lighting, these fixtures will not be required. 8 of 11

9 DIESEL DIESEL Canopy Branded Diesel The following applies to branded diesel canopies with no gasoline: Only branded diesel may be sold under Shield Image canopies 3D illumination is only required on one side (primary) of the canopy and should feature the Phillips 66 logo 2 color ACM with silver stripes should be applied to all other sides of the canopy (with or without area lighting) 3D illumination may be used on a branded diesel canopy at the customer s discretion and cost Canopy under lighting must be LED Canopy under deck may be black (recommended), gray, or white Phillips 66 valances are required where possible, they will not be illuminated Column cladding is not required Canopy columns may be either charcoal gray or Gunmetal gray. Canopy - Secondary Fueling Area Secondary fueling areas with both branded gasoline and branded diesel are imaged to the Shield Image brand requirements. Canopy - Unbranded Diesel The image of unbranded diesel canopies must be clearly distinguishable from the Shield image. The two-color ACM with or without silver stripes shall not be used. 9 of 11
