I trust that everyone has enjoyed their Christmas break and was able to spend some quality time with their families. I d like to take the opportunity to welcome all of our new families to our wonderful school and look forward to forging some great memories this year. In 2019, we have some changes happening, with current numbers we are looking at 5 classes. The setup for these classes will be as follows. Prep/1 Mrs Lester Mrs Boving Year 1/2/3 Mon - Wed Thur - Fri Mrs Puie and Mrs Searle Year 4/5/6 Mrs Sly Mr Teefy Mrs Pacey Mon - Thurs Friday for Mr Teefy Mrs Irwin will be working with Mrs Arkell doing Literacy Support for students in Years 4, 5 and 6. By doing so this will enable our school to continue to deliver high quality outcomes to all of the students within our school. Another change you would have noticed is in our carpark area at the front of the school. The school has been working in collaboration with the Council to improve the car park area for the increased safety of our students. You will notice on entry to Sharon School Road there is now a speed bump to slow traffic entering the school zone. 25 January 2019 The process for drop off and pick up will now be to proceed around the round-about at the end of Sharon School Road and pull into the Kiss and Go Area. Please note that this is a Kiss and Go Area only and if you wish to walk your child into school please use the carparks provided. In the afternoon at pickup parents are now able to pull up in the Kiss and Go area and once this if full can park in the yellow bus zone and around the round-a-about to keep the car parking area clear. In previous years we have noticed parents parking in front of our neighbours house entering from Gin Gin Road. Students will not be released to this area for safety reasons. The preference would be for parents to not park in this space as this is not a designated school parking area. The purpose of the upgrade was to increase student safety as well as provide a more convenient pickup and drop off process. There is also a new path entrance on Sharon Road through the passenger gate for student walking or riding to school. The Council has also upgraded the entrance to the bike track that leads from Sharon Road through to Davis Road We thank the Council for all their assistance in getting these works done during the school holidays. I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning. Have a great long weekend enjoy the Australia Day Public Holiday on Monday.
