2 VIA LOFTS Hoboken NJ Bijou Properties Marchetto Higgins Stieve Site/Civil Natural Resources & Permitting As part of the overall revitalization of northwestern Hoboken Langan is providing site/civil engineering natural resources permitting and environmental investigation and remediation oversight for this 44-unit mixed-use urban redevelopment project. The LEED Platinum-certified project features a green roof area that was specifically designed to comply with the city's target of creating a minimum of 25% green roof area on all new buildings. The project includes a rooftop runoff capture and reuse collection system to supply green roof irrigation water reducing demand on the city's potable water supply and also reducing the project's overall impact on the city's combined sewer outfall system. Langan was responsible for the environmental investigation of the site the remediation of an identified 'hot-spot ' and the overall waste-class certification and disposal process for the hot-spot and site-wide historic fill materials as part of the site's overall remediation. The project site is located in the regulated flood hazard area and significant design and coordination was required to obtain a flood hazard area permit from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

3 CANDELA LOFTS Hoboken NJ Bijou Properties Nastasi Architects Environmental On the site of a former candle factory Candela Lofts pays homage to an era before electricity. Langan provided environmental testing and remediation services for the redevelopment which has achieved Passive House Certification - the highest performance standard in the world. Designed as a self-sufficient zero-energy set of residences the project establishes a new threshold for sustainability in residential design utilizing advanced energy modeling building systems and building envelope assembly.

4 MAXWELL PLACE Hoboken NJ Toll Brothers Dean Marchetto Architects Perkins Eastman Partner: DeSimone Consulting Engineers Goldstein Associates Geotechnical Traditional Surveying The Maxwell Place development consists of a large luxury residential waterfront development. Numerous industrial structures once occupied the project site which was partially reclaimed from the Hudson River. The 12-story residential buildings with a combined footprint area of about SF were constructed in three phases along with associated below- and above-grade parking structures. The adaptation of the foundation systems to the highly variable subsurface conditions created substantial cost and schedule savings for the development/construction team. The project also included the first ever deep dynamic compaction improvement in the history of Hoboken.

5 ONE JOURNAL SQUARE Jersey City NJ Kushner Companies Woods Bagot Geotechnical Site/Civil Traffic & Transportation Surveying/Geospatial Langan is providing geotechnical site/civil and traffic engineering planning and surveying services for a proposed mixed-use development in the Journal Square section of Jersey City. The development will consist of two high-rise towers measuring 46 and 69 stories over a 10-floor podium and will include residential apartments approximately SF of retail SF of office space and SF of amenities space. The development is adjacent to the Journal Square PATH Station.

The GSF development will incorporate the historic Jersey Journal building and consist of a 72-story residential tower with a 10-story podium with space for retail office and parking.

7 HUDSON GREENE (77 HUDSON STREET) Jersey City NJ K. Hovnanian Companies Equity Residential Properties CetraRuddy Geotechnical Site/Civil Environmental Traffic & Transportation Landscape Architecture Langan provided a full range of design and engineering services for the construction of two 48-story residential towers at the core of Jersey City's Colgate Waterfront Redevelopment Area. This joint venture development features retail space 900 luxury residential units and a rooftop garden on top of a 10-story parking deck.

8 METROPOLIS TOWERS Jersey City NJ Metrovest Equities DMR Architects Site/Civil Geotechnical Environmental Landscape Architecture Traditional Surveying Metropolis Towers (also known as Gregory Apartments) is a high-rise residential/retail development project in downtown Jersey City. Langan was selected to perform asbestos investigation and abatement services for the demolition of existing buildings onsite soil investigations for chromium and historic fill contaminants preparation of a Remedial Work Plan for the chromium and prepare demolition plans prior to construction of the development. Design included all aspects of design for city county and state permitting. Site constraints include the underground railroad path tunnel city sewer interceptors and floodplain which encroach upon the site. Site design stormwater management sewer and utility design landscape lighting and soil erosion control engineering services were performed considering all site constraints while meeting regulatory requirements.

9 HUDSON EXCHANGE WEST Jersey City NJ Forest City Enterprises Perkins Eastman Partner: WSP (Phase IA) McNamara Salvia Structural Engineers (Phase 1B) Geotechnical Hudson Exchange West is an 18-acre neighborhood development project that will introduce new residential buildings outdoor park areas transportation access and retail amenities to the downtown waterfront community of Jersey City. Langan is providing geotechnical engineering services during the design development and construction development phases. Our scope of work includes a site specific seismic study site coordination subsurface investigation geotechnical engineering report and construction controlled inspections for the deep foundation installation and load tests.

10 IRONSIDE NEWARK Newark NJ Edison Properties LLC Site/Civil Environmental Traditional Surveying Langan provided survey site/civil and environmental engineering services as part of Edison's redevelopment of various land parcels adjacent to the Prudential Center. The redevelopment is to include retail office and residential uses as well as a new park called Mulberry Commons which will link downtown Newark to Penn Station and the Ironbound.

11 FAIR LAWN PROMENADE Fair Lawn NJ Garden Commercial Properties Appel Design Group Landscape Architecture Site/Civil A brownfield site once owned by Kodak on Route 208 was in need of environmental cleanup and redevelopment. Langan provided landscape architecture services for the mixed-use development designed on 10 acres of unusable land. The main entrance to the site from Route 208 is designed as a gateway featuring low decorative knee walls adorned with decorative lighting and accent plantings. The promenade and centerpiece of the site boasts a 30-foot-wide by 256-foot-long area providing two small patio spaces and a permeable paver pathway in a park-like setting complete with decorative benches and lighting that winds through a cleverly designed landscape.

It will be Architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron's first high-rise commission anywhere in the world. The site a 125-ft-wide by 100-ft-deep rectangular parcel in Tribeca consists of two adjoined lots previously occupied by the former New York Law School (NYLS) library building. The proposed building will consist of a 60-story residential high-rise tower with a single cellar level. 13 VIA 57 WEST New York NY The Durst Organization Bjarke Ingels Group Partner: Thornton Tomasetti Hunter Roberts Construction Group Geotechnical Site/Civil Regarded as a cross between Copenhagen-style residential courtyards and a New York City skyscraper this mixed-use 38-story residential building in Midtown West includes 709 residential units and ground floor retail space. A massive outdoor courtyard cut into the center of the building adds to the structure's unique pyramid-like shape. Langan performed extensive geotechnical and site/civil work including design of a bioswale; in addition Langan produced a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan. Langan performed geotechnical and environmental engineering investigations and provided foundation recommendations to support the proposed tower on spread footings supported on rock.

16 19 EAST HOUSTON STREET New York NY Madison Capital Perkins Eastman Geotechnical Environmental This six-story SF mixed-use retail and commercial building is located in Manhattan's vibrant SoHo neighborhood. The development has a footprint of about SF and five active New York City Transit (NYCT) subway lines running beneath the site. Langan's environmental engineers completed a Phase II Environmental Site Investigation to identify potential impacts at the site. Our field investigation consisted of a geophysical survey soil borings installation of soil vapor sampling points and collection of soil and soil vapor samples for chemical analysis. Our geotechnical engineering services included a subsurface exploration that included borings test pits laboratory testing and classification/reporting on existing site conditions.

17 35XV New York NY Alchemy Properties FXCollaborative Partner: Severud Site/Civil Geotechnical Environmental Surveying/Geospatial Demolition Langan provided multiple engineering and survey services for this mixed-use tower located at the intersection of the Gramercy and Union Square Park neighborhoods. This 24-story cantilevered tower which sits atop an expansion of the neighboring Xavier High School includes 55 residences on the upper floors. The seventh floor provides residential amenities which include a lounge fitness center children's playroom deeded wine storage and a dining room. This project is anticipated to receive LEED Silver certification. 19 OOSTEN CONDOMINIUM (429 KENT AVENUE) Brooklyn NY R Black Global XIN Development Piet Boon WASA/Studio A Partner: Wexler Associates Site/Civil Geotechnical Environmental Landscape Architecture Langan provided multiple design and construction administration services for this new eight-story GSF condominium that encompasses an entire block along the South Williamsburg waterfront. Langan's landscape design services included designs for ground level planting and three levels of rooftop amenity space. Our environmental engineers established a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) and Construction Health and Safety Plan (CHASP) to remediate approximately SF of property. Langan's geotechnical staff completed a subsurface investigation seismic evaluations and provided recommendations for foundation design and construction. Site/civil engineering services included full engineering sets from schematic to final bid documents.

20 365 BOND Brooklyn NY The Lightstone Group Hill West Architects Weintraub Diaz Landscape Architecture Partner: Sive Paget & Riesel Environmental Geotechnical Site/Civil Surveying/Geospatial Natural Resources & Permitting Data Solutions Located along the Gowanus Canal the two-acre site encompasses an entire rezoned city block that previously functioned as a Standard Oil terminal. The development of this project included the construction of a 12-story SF mixed-use building a new bulkhead and a public waterfront esplanade through the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program with additional oversight from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Our environmental engineers employed a dynamic investigative and remedial approach to usher the project through construction and remediation activities which were completed concurrently. As part of the Brownfield Cleanup Program the client will receive significant tax credits for the remediation and development of the property which was transformed from a neglected site into a vibrant residential community and public park.

21 55 BANK STREET White Plains NY LCOR Incoporated SLCE Architects Partner: Tadjer-Cohen-Edelson & Associates Inc. Environmental Geotechnical Langan provided engineering services for this transit-oriented mixed-use residential/retail development located approximately 25 miles north of Manhattan. The project offers SF of useable space to the community. The development will include a 16-story 288-unit residential building with ground retail space and 381 parking spaces. The next phase will include construction of a second 16-story building with 273 residences retail space and a combination of above and below ground parking for 189 vehicles.

22 HALLETTS POINT - BUILDING 1 Astoria NY The Durst Organization Dattner Architects Partner: Lincoln Equities Jonathan Rose Company Site/Civil Geotechnical Traffic & Transportation The Astoria waterfront is undergoing a complete transformation with the construction of Halletts Point. When complete this 2.4-million-SF megaproject will include retail stores outdoor areas and approximately residential units. The city-approved master plan also includes a site for a potential K-8 public school and an additional development lot for the New York City Housing Authority. The project will consist of seven buildings the first scheduled to open in Building One will include 405 units up to 25 percent of which will be affordable housing.

23 QUEENS PLAZA - DUTCH KILLS GREEN Long Island City NY NYC Economic Development Corporation NYC Department of City Planning Partner: Wallace Roberts & Todd Margie Ruddick Landscape Site/Civil Environmental Landscape Architecture Traditional Surveying Langan provided multi-disciplinary services in the areas of urban design streetscape site/civil environmental and traffic engineering and NEPA review services for a bicycle and pedestrian improvement project at Queens Plaza. The plaza is the gateway connecting the Queensboro Bridge to Long Island City and is a highly traveled area. Langan prepared site engineering drawings that consisted of grading drainage utility builders pavement plans roadway profiles signing striping traffic signal and maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT). At the start of the project Langan worked with the multi-disciplinary design team to develop the concept of 'the blue thread' a system of interconnected urban wetlands that would filter runoff water from the Queensboro Bridge and the elevated railway structures.
