Woodland, Agricultural, Housing Allocated in Adopted Caerphilly UDP under Policy E1(3) as being suitable for B1, B2 and B8. Outline permission for B1, B2, B8 Zone A Nelson Bog SSSI. Lies approx. 700m to SE Shallow tree lined valley, agricultural pasture sloping northwards and to west. No designations.

5 CR2 Oakdale Location: Oakdale Business Park Site size 67.8 hectares OSGR: ST Access: Ownership: Existing Land Use: Surrounding land use: Planning allocation: Water Environment: Ecology: Landscape: This site has four potential development plateaux which are all currently accessible off the B4251. Public Ownership. Reclaimed colliery land: beigefield Agricultural, commercial, woodland Allocated in Adopted Caerphilly UDP under Policy E1(4) as being suitable for B1, B2 and B8. Outline planning permission has been granted for the development of the entire Business Park Zone A SSSI within 500m Open plateaux within valley landscape.

6 CR3 Navigation Colliery, Crumlin

7 CR3 Navigation Colliery, Crumlin Location: Navigation Colliery, northwest of Crumlin adjacent to A467 Site size 4.6 hectares OSGR: ST Access: Ownership: Existing Land Use: Surrounding land use: Planning allocation: Water Environment: Ecology: Landscape: Site bounded by the A467. The site is accessed off Kendon Road which crosses over the railway line before it meets with the A467. The entry radii on exiting the site are likely to require increasing to allow the safe movement of HGV s. This would require undertaking works to the bridge which may not be feasible. Private Ownership. Former colliery site: brownfield. There are a number of former colliery buildings on a site that are Listed. Woodland Allocated in Adopted Caerphilly UDP under Policy E1 (7) as being suitable for B1, B2 and B8. Proposed residential redevelopment scheme suspended. Zone C2 No ecology designations within 2000m of site Valley side, mixed woodland to west, railway line and A476 to east.

9 CR4 Land north of Newbridge Road, Pontllanfraith Location: North of Newbridge road, Pontllanfriath Site size 16.6 hectares OSGR: ST Access: Ownership: Existing Land Use: Surrounding land use: Planning allocation: Water Environment: Ecology: Landscape: The recently constructed Sirhowy Enterprise Way (SEW) road scheme passes through this land allocation and any development at this site would be accessed off this road. The SEW was developed to improve the economic viability of the area and therefore this site location is suitably positioned for new development in transport terms. Public Ownership Agriculture: Greenfield Industrial and residential to south, agricultural to north. Allocated in Adopted Caerphilly UDP under Policy E1(11) as being suitable for B1, B2 and B8. Zone A Memorial Park Meadows SSSI approx. 500m to the west. Eastern edge of Sirhowy Valley.

11 CR5 Land at Dyffryn Business Park, Twyn Road Location: Land at Dyffryn Business Park, Twyn Road Site size 13.7 hectares OSGR: ST Access: Ownership: Existing Land Use: Surrounding land use: Planning allocation: Water Environment: Ecology: Landscape: The A469 (Caerphilly to Heads of the Valley Road) dual carriageway located immediately east of the three plots. There would be little or no highway improvements necessary for locating an EfW facility at any of these locations. Public ownership. Existing business park with one large (6.9ha.) plot, and two smaller plots. Woodland, agriculture, Industrial units. Allocated in Adopted Caerphilly UDP under Policy E1(14) as being suitable for B1, B2 and B8. Zone C1 No statutory designations within 2km of site. Within Rhymney Valley: commercial/residential valley floor.

13 CR6 Heads of Valleys Industrial Estate, Rhymney Location: Land at Heads of the Valleys, Rhymney Site size 5.1 hectares OSGR: SO Access: Ownership: Existing Land Use: Surrounding land use: Planning allocation: Water Environment: Ecology: Landscape: This site has two points of access off the A469; from the south via a t-junction and from the north via Carno Street roundabout. Both junctions and the road leading to the site are suitable for HGVs. The site is located 3km south of the A465 Heads of the Valleys Road, which has been upgraded to a dual-carriageway. Welsh Assembly Government Existing Industrial Estate. Former colliery site. Rhymney Town Centre to east. Wooded valley to west. Allocated in Adopted Caerphilly UDP under Policy E1(1) as being suitable for B1, B2 and B8. Zone A No statutory designations within 2km of site. Development plateaux within valley environment.
