7 Q: WILL THIS ENCOURAGE DEVELOPMENT? A: The plan gives the Town and its citizens an idea of how development should plan for connectivity, walkability, and open space preservation in the event that development occurs. Note: Projects must meet all infrastructure requirements; for many parcels this means constructing roads and having access to sewer. * See RAP Pg. 41, 53, 58-59

9 Q: HOW DO WE BUILD ROADS? A: As development occurs, the Town relies on projects to create an interconnected network of streets. Constructing many smaller, lower-speed streets rather concentrating traffic on a few large, high-speed roads moves the same amount of vehicles while ensuring safe options for pedestrians and cyclists. * See RAP Pgs. 53, 58

11 Q: HOW DO WE ENSURE CONNECTIVITY? A: Encourage development and conservation practices that give people mobility options through interconnected streets and paths as well as contiguous open spaces areas, which are also necessary to provide essential habitat corridors. * See RAP Pg. 41, 53, 58-59

13 Q: HOW DO WE PRESERVE OPEN SPACE? A: Require mandatory set-asides within development projects, and require these areas to be interconnected to existing and potential open space areas. The RAP requires set-asides ranging from 40%-70% of a project s land area. * See RAP Pg , 43, 88
