The Chatham Village annual meeting held on March 1 st was attended by well over 100 people, a record turnout! This was first time a quorum was met without having to knock on doors for proxies. A hearty thank you goes out to the Faith Management team for assisting with the registration of homeowners. Homeowner Dee Wright won the drawing for a free month maintenance fee and Carolyn Harvey won a free rental of the clubhouse. The Board of Directors is looking forward to working together to make 2015 another great year at Chatham Village. 2 What does spring cleaning mean to you? Spring is about to be sprung and the cold weather is getting out of the way for summer fun at the pool and taking advantage of the warm weather.

Now is a great time, before it gets too hot, to declutter your balcony. Remember balconies are not to be used for storage and must be kept in a neat and orderly manner.

Discard dead potted plants and any other items that could hold water and attract mosquitoes.

2 2 What does spring cleaning mean to you? Spring is about to be sprung and the cold weather is getting out of the way for summer fun at the pool and taking advantage of the warm weather. Spring is always an excellent time to spruce up your house and reconnect with your patio area that has probably been neglected during the winter months. Now is a great time, before it gets too hot, to declutter your balcony. Remember balconies are not to be used for storage and must be kept in a neat and orderly manner. Patio areas should be kept free of clutter and trash to avoid the attraction of unwanted rodents and insects, which can become a problem for your unit as well as surrounding units. Discard dead potted plants and any other items that could hold water and attract mosquitoes. This is also a good time to have any shrubs and trees cut and/or trimmed, especially if they are touching the awning, gutter, or roof or if they are causing issues with a fence. A little work now will help save time for more fun when summer arrives! See an exterior light out... Please call or the office AROUND THE GROUNDS The landscapers have been working diligently getting mulch out around the trees and shrubs, as well as, trimming all 62 crepe myrtles all over the property. Also, in a few weeks, flowers will be planted at the entrance. Now that the weather is changing the landscapers will be working hard to keep the grass mowed, weeds pulled, and the property groomed as a whole. This means using the blowers to clear debris from the streets and shrubbery. As the grounds crew is blowing they do their best to avoid blowing debris onto patios; however, some will surely land inside patio areas. The landscapers cannot enter your patios to blow debris out, but again they will do everything they can to keep from blowing it in. WHEN IS THE POOL GOING TO OPEN? That is the question many of you have been asking. Well, in a couple of weeks the pool will undergo some needed repairs in order to have it ready to open by mid-may. We will notify you of the exact opening day and when the pool passes are ready for pick-up. As always, we look forward to great pool season this year. Don t forget the clubhouse and guest rooms are available to rent. Call the office for more information.

We understand that some residents who do not have water spigots on their patio may use the hoses to water their plants and flowers. However, after you use a hose, please return it as soon as possible.

Many dryer vents are stuffed full of lint, especially if you do not clean your lint filter after every load.

Just recently, six units were damaged in a two alarm fire, at a nearby Germantown condominium community. The alleged culprit that caused the fire was lint buildup in a dryer vent.

Each one of us has a story to tell, a hand to lend, a laugh to share, and friendship to give. What keeps us from extending so much of ourselves to the families that live around our own may be those same things that prevent us from experiencing many of the great blessings of our parents or of our youth: A changing world that focuses more on the individual than the family and the need to remain isolated in order to feel safe and secure. If we want to grow as a community then we have to risk breaking free from the bonds of isolation that are so easily created by and for us. We must reach out to our neighbors and let them know that they matter and that we care. If we do that, even in the most seemingly insignificant ways like a wave as we pass on the street then we are moving toward a better community and a better way to live. This way of reconnecting with one another can create a better environment in which to live. FYI.. Do you have a working smoke detector in your home? A homeowner could be liable if there is not a working smoke detector inside every condo. Townhomes should have one on each floor. I bet if he could, he would! It is the homeowner s responsibility to pick-up after their pet. This is a Chatham Village rule and this is in accordance with the Memphis City Leash and Poop Laws.
