2 COSMETIC RENOVATION STYLE GUIDE This style guide contains the interior & exterior design formula for any cosmetic renovation. This design scheme works well for properties with a resale value of $750,000 or less. Many aspects of this cosmetic renovation style guide can also be applied to structural renovation projects, over $750,000 in value. Please remember, any changes you make to a property should always be in line with your property value. The more expensive your property, the more you upgrade the quality, fixtures and fittings within that property. This scheme is a safe renovation style that won t win you any design awards. It will however, make your property appeal to the majority of buyers or renters, not the minority. It is a proven scheme that adds the most value, at the least cost possible. And the intention is for you to replicate this design formula, project after project, so your renovations become a cookie-cutter template for cost & process efficiencies. This can reduce your painting process by one coat. You want to do this before your renderer orders all the buckets of coloured render. There is no need to paint your exterior walls with this product as the paint colour is already pre-mixed into the render. If you have a fibro house, render straight over the top of the fibro. There is no need to remove the fibro (which contains asbestos) and install blueboard as acrylic render can be applied direct to fibro.
